Lou Scheimer passed away (http://www.cartoonbrew.com/animators/r-i-p-filmation-co-founder-lou-scheimer-89971.html) recently, so here's a thread to talk about the company he founded.
(Yes, DreamWorks DOES own Filmation, which is why it's in this board. Filmation became absorbed into Classic Media, and DWA purchased Classic Media last year.)
The legacy left behind:
The original DC comics cartoons. Tarzan. He-Man. Fat Albert. Ghost Busters (and its animated sequel). Bravestarr. Need I go on?
Rest in peace, Lou. You'll be missed.
DreamWorks is rebooting She-Ra for Netflix. (https://io9.gizmodo.com/she-ra-princess-of-power-is-making-a-comeback-on-netfl-1821228990)
Hopefully the She-Ra remake is as good as the He-Man remake.
Yeah, I still miss He-Man 2005. That was one reboot that was not only good, but got even better as it went along. Too bad this new She-Ra likely won't be in it's continuity but hopefully it's just as good.

Hey, Star Butterfly.

It will be a continuation of the 1980s series. Interestingly, however, DreamWorks won't be involved and it won't tie in to the new She-Ra series.
Netflix's new He-Man series premieres July 23.
Still images have been released. (https://ew.com/tv/masters-of-the-universe-revelation-photos-premiere-kevin-smith) They remind me of the 2002 series.
