Results:

"The Sparkling Sky & Your Voice" (Ranma 1/2) - 10
"Now or Never" (Astro Boy (2003)) - 9
"Rock the Planet" (Urusei Yatsura) - 17
"Kizudarake no Eikou" (Ashita no Joe 2) - 14

"Rock the Planet" and "Kizudarake no Eikou" move on to round two.

Round 1: Match 3

1. "1/2" (Rurouni Kenshin) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b16zTWwpHWk
2."Kanashimi yo Konnichiwa" (Maison Ikkoku) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tkwOPVoLrnA
3."Ready Steady Go" (Fullmetal Alchemist)-  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dX-_lEH3UTE
4. "Shouri no Uta" (Rockman EXE Beast) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tDs2WmF-qGw

My Picks:

"Kanashimi no Konnichwa" - A classic, and my easy favorite this time. I've always loved the paper cutout and colored pencil-ish visuals, the song is beautiful, and together they capture and evoke great feelings of nostalgia. Perhaps the definitive MI opening, though I find the remaining three in this competition are amazing as well.

"1/2" - Song is great, and the visuals are pretty gorgeous. Not sure if it really fit the Kyoto arc or not, but this is an excellent opening regardless.

"Ready Steady Go" - Definitely an adrenaline-pumping op, and does a good job getting you excited to watch FMA with some killer animation and quick editing here. It's no wonder that [adult swim]'s broadcast version of the show used this for the first 41 episodes, forgoing openings 1 & 3.  :D

"Shouri no Uta" - Some great stuff here, but doesn't evoke as much emotion or excitement from me as the other three in this match, I'm afraid.

I'm interested in two of these so I'll make my picks later. Now take your ass in my thread and vote. >:(

Ready Steady Go - One of the most memorable openings ever.
MI - I'm not sure what the hell this show is about but I was impressed with how creative the animation was for this OP.
1/2 - Decent. The best part is with the Juppongatana and the flickering light. The singing is kind of annoying though.
Rockman - Ole! Ole! The music is catchy but besides that, it seemed too much like a typical opening.

Thanks guys! Here are the results:

"1/2" (Rurouni Kenshin) - 14
"Kanashimi yo Konnichiwa" (Maison Ikkoku) - 15
"Ready Steady Go" (Fullmetal Alchemist) - 16
"Shouri no Uta" (Rockman EXE Beast) - 5

"Ready Steady Go" and "Kanashimi yo" move on to round 2.

Round 1: Match 4

1. "Cold Finger Girl" (Level E) - http://vimeo.com/87319853
2. "Asterisk" (Bleach) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EFNQhmDLjTk&
3. "Hito Toshite Jiku ga Buretiru" (Sayonara, Zetsubou Sensei) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OM8ODecbuhA
4. "Everlasting Luv" (Detective Conan) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PqE-eI8fjwU

Ooo, this is a nice one!:

1. "Cold Finger Girl" - Creative visuals, killer song, really gets you pumped up to watch the show and is a perfect fit for the bizarre sic-fi comedy that is Level E.
2. "Hito Toshite Jike ga Buretiru" - This one is bizarre, and I love bizarre. And from what I've seen of the show, it's an apt match of it's insanity.
3. "Everlasting Luv" - Catchy song, and some great Shinichi/Ran scenes in here too.
4. "Asterisk" - It's a cool op with some excellent visuals and great sense of style and fashion, but I just like the above more.

Hmm, I did nominate Asterisk but I might pass
