Hello and welcome everyone to Animation Revelation's Greatest Novel Tournament. You should all know the drill by now, so I'll just cut straight to the chase:

Round 1, Match 1:

The Black Cauldron by Lloyd Alexander

Vs

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling

Vs

Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe

Vs

Animal Farm by George Orwell

Vs

Bridge of Birds by Barry Hugharth

Round 1, Match 2:

Congo by Michael Crichton

Vs

The First Man In Rome by Colleen McCullough

Vs

A Storm of Swords by George R.R. Martin

Vs

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon

Vs

The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov

-----------

My votes:

Bridge of Birds - One of the best fantasy novels I've read.
Animal Farm
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
The Black Cauldron
Robinson Crusoe

Haven't read the Prydain books since I was a kid, but I remember enjoying them. Same goes for Robinson.

The First Man In Rome
The Master and Margarita
A Storm of Swords - The best book in the series
The Curious Incident...
Congo

By the way, I wonder if its necessary to write the title of and author of each novel when both perfectly visible on the covers. I don't know, it seems a bit superfluous.

Haven't thought that much about it. 1-2 weeks, I guess.

To be honest, I don't think it's going to be possible to read every book during the time the tournament is going on. Personally, I'm going to pick and choose and prioritize some novels over others.

I just had to accidentally spark this tournament. You guys will be in here trying to read all of these books until the sun burns out. :il_hahaha:

I can only do the first for right now.

Robinson Crusoe
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
The Black Cauldron
Bridge of Birds
Animal Farm
Life is not about the second chances. It's about a little mouse and his voyage to an exciting new land. That, my friend, is what life is.

Sir, do you have any Warrants?
I got their first CD, but you can't have it, motherfucker!

----------

My votes:

Fifth Business - The first novel in one of my favorite literary trilogies

David Copperfield
Lucifer's Hammer
Ellen Foster

The Idiot
Foundation and Empire
The Prisoner of Zenda
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone
The Catcher in the Rye

I haven't read The Catcher in the Rye. I know I probably should at some point, since its such a well-known novel, but I haven't managed to work up any interest in it.

Remain the same.

I'm going to skip the first one for now, but I'll go with the same order as Pharass for the second.

Catcher in the Rye honestly isn't that good once you grow up. I can barely stand it now.

Dr. Ensatsu-ken

I hate Ellen Foster, and I hated my school even more for forcing me to read it back in 9th grade. I just wanted to put that out there.

Anyways, this, like presumably with most rounds, is where I must shamefully admit that I've read so few of these books that I really can't vote on anything.

I thought it was terrible even before I grew up. :D

Dr. Ensatsu-ken

I've never read it, but that one South Park episode about it is hilarious.

Avaitor

I'll go with the same ranking as Pharass in the first match. Just so this game continues.
