What are the odds it will be a soft reboot that, while taking place in the old film's universe, is still essentially an uninspired remake of the first movie like the 2016 film was?

Yeah, at this point I feel like the franchise is better left off the big screen. I can't think of anything of value this can offer.

Ghostbusters as a concept always felt like something that would work better as a show than a movie, and the only reason the first movie worked was because of the four lead actors.
