Yeah, basically. If they didn't re-release their movies all the time I wouldn't always be waiting for a better version to come out before I jump in.

A couple of people on UltimateDisney do a monthly podcast where they add their own commentary track to various Disney movies, and I'm watching the one they do for Peter Pan now.

I'm only a few minutes in, but somehow I find this more informative than a lot of Disney tracks I've heard. It helps that one of the commentators is familiar with most of the story's various versions, and he's comparing the movie to the book and play a lot.

Atlantis is the wiki article of the day. I have to say, I have a bit of a soft spot for the film, but it is far from Disney's best. I like how different it feels from Disney's regular stuff, appreciate the film's sense of humor, and really dig Mike Mingola's designs, but i can see how the story doesn't feel as epic as it should, as well as feel that the casting isn't that strong. I mean, I love Michael J. Fox, but when Milo speaks, all I can hear is Marty McFly.

While of the three upcoming combo packs, it's the one I'm the least likely to get (I love almost everything about Lilo & Stitch, while I don't think I've ever disagreed with Doug Walker on a movie more than I have with his thoughts on Emperor's New Groove), I'm going to at least consider getting it at some point.

Tonight I rewatched Snow White for the first time in years. And man, over 70 years since it was made, it's still a damn fine movie.

I should come up with a top ten Disney list. Surprised I haven't done that yet. I need to rewatch a bunch first though. My friend and I recently started a marathon of them, so maybe I'll do a list afterward.

A Blu-Ray for The Sword in the Stone is supposed to come out this coming week. But based on comparisons like this, it doesn't seem to look like a good restoration at all.

The Sword in the Stone's poor restoration angered a lot of Disney fans, but there has been even more of a shitstorm with The Little Mermaid's upcoming release. Near the end of "Part of Your World", there's a major error in editing, which to many ruins the tone of the song. This is what I'm talking about if you care to look.

Flounder comes in at the wrong the wrong time, and Ariel's lips don't match the lyrics by the end. I can see why fans are annoyed with this change, and Disney has confirmed that they don't intend to fix the error. This might be the first Diamond release I'm skipping.

*Sigh*, really?  :thinkin:

How can you screw up one of your most important films?

Laziness.

Oh, by the way- I would get this set... If I did Blu-Ray. I actually didn't notice the screw up.
Well, I got so burned out on the road
Too many fags, too much blow
And then Mick and I split up and I said,
"Kid, it's time to take a little bit of a hiatus."
So I got myself a gig at the coffee shop
and I love it.
Why don't you take that corner booth,
I'll take your order in a minute...

Well there's talk that the DVD version doesn't have the error, at least the solo DVD version. The DVD that comes with the Blu-Ray combo definitely does.

Good news! Disney IS offering to issue replacement discs of the DVD and Blu-Ray copies of TLM, which fix the errors. Not for 3D Blu-Ray, however. If you buy a copy of the movie and still have your receipt and can name off some codes, you're good to go. Call these numbers or check out the site down here.

I just got my replacement discs for The Little Mermaid. I heard that it would take up to 8 weeks for them to be sent out, but about 3 is even better.

Well, Avaitor, I finally saw The Princess and the Frog a few nights ago. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. It was very good. The scene at the end...
