Time Masters is a French/Hungarian feature length animated science fiction film. Fucking brilliant work as expected from Rene Laloux. It's based on a 1958 French novel called  L'Orphelin de Perdide.

Peil a 7 year old boy finds himself stranded on a planet infested with dangerous/weird creatures after his parents are killed by giant bees. Before his father dies he gives the boy an egg shaped interstellar transmitter. Since Peil can't comprehend what it is, his dieing father tells  him it's a robot named "Mike" and to obey it's orders. His father's friend Space Pilot Jaffar and some others start flying towards the planet to rescue the kid while guiding him with the transmitter "Mike", trying to keep him alive.

If you're going to watch it I suggest watching the original French version with English subtitles(unless you know French of course).
