LD Talkback #164

Dr. Insomniac

T'was watchable. You can predict the plot in the first 5 minutes though.

Spark Of Spirit

One of them goes rogue and the female and male become heroes who fall in love with each other?

Commode

Eh, close.  There really wasn't much of a love interest in it, the other girl was more of a minor character.

Anyways, I thought it was alright, but I wasn't a fan of some of the Cloverfield-style shaky cam.  It wasn't overtly offensive, but it was noticable.
It doesn't matter what you say, soon you'll be dead anyway.

Avaitor

I got to see it tonight, and quite liked it. I'm not a big fan of the Cloverfield/District 9/etc camera style myself, but I thought it was effective here, and I like how it they used multiple cameras throughout. It's also pretty fun throughout.
Life is not about the second chances. It's about a little mouse and his voyage to an exciting new land. That, my friend, is what life is.

Sir, do you have any Warrants?
I got their first CD, but you can't have it, motherfucker!

Have you seen Super 8?

It's way better than those shaky cam movies.

EDIT: Uh, meant to quote Avaitor.

Man Bites Dog is another great documentary-style film. Quite the hilarious dark comedy if you can stomach the graphic violence and rape scene(s?).
