Mr. Big

By all accounts this was the strangest comic strip to run in newspapers in the '80s. It's about a deranged teenage boy who spouts non-sequiturs, much to the bewilderment of his friend Tommy. Along with their teacher Mr. Lester, these three characters were the only ones to appear on-screen (on-panel?); every other character talked out of the frame.

The strip ran from 1982 to 1988. Not many newspapers ran it (at its peak it was in only 50)

Some Sunday strips I scanned. These are all from 1985.

I have many more coming up.

Spark Of Spirit

That's pretty good, I've never seen it before.

Mr. Big

I scanned a few more

('Martha' is Arnold's mom. This strip gives a disturbing implication of his home life, needless to say)

Mr. Big

Three more.

That's all I have right now, but more are coming on my way.
