Gonna take pollution down to zero...

This show is garbage, but I can't help but enjoy it.

I only ever watched one episode when I was wee little, and even then, I thought it was the stupidest thing ever.

I didn't see it again until 2006 when my cable provider added Boomerang to its roster (it replaced G4's slot; it was like Christmas came early! :swoon:), so I decided to leave it on all day. This was a period when CN was dipping into suckage territory, so it was like a breath of fresh air to watch classic cartoons again that I hadn't seen in years.

When Captain Planet came on, I decided to tune in to another episode... and another episode... and another episode...

Damn it, this show is Power Rangers levels of cheesy. I can't help but laugh at it!

We will never see a show with such lack of self-awareness ever again.

Oh hey, you're here. Welcome!

And I have little recollection of watching Captain Planet as a kid. Seeing some of it now makes me chuckle.
Life is not about the second chances. It's about a little mouse and his voyage to an exciting new land. That, my friend, is what life is.

Sir, do you have any Warrants?
I got their first CD, but you can't have it, motherfucker!

Never watched a lot of this show, I think most kids honestly knew it was crap.  Was it ever really that popular?
It doesn't matter what you say, soon you'll be dead anyway.

I remember having a Captain Planet figure as a kid. Sadly it was like the abused toy of my childhood as it was the punching bag of all my other toys when I made them fight. :P

Popular in mockery.

Protect the environment or I'LL FUCKING KILL YOU! CAPTAIN PLANET!

I think the best thing that came out of this was the Robot Chicken sketch:

Last time I saw captain planet, it was on some education channel that I can't remember, but it's only programming for a two-day block was one episode of captain planet at 2:30am.
It was cheesy and terrible, but I loved it when I was little.

Also, I can't think about captain planet without thinking of http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/513733 and http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/562097

I will say, if they do make that Captain Planet movie they've been talking about, Doug Walker's friend better play Matai.

I still vividly remember the episode where Linka's cousin died of a drug overdose. And the PSA at the end of an episode where the Planeteers told me that having too many babies would ruin the world. Aside from the nature motif, this show had some odd messages for children.

Huh, cool. Very cheesy show, but I still like it.
