From the period this block existed, tons of quality came through it.

Super funny shows like Darkwing, Goof Troop, and Bonkers ones with a lot of heart and action like Gummi Bears, Gargoyles, and Aladdin, and stuff in between like DuckTales, Rescue Rangers, and TaleSpin. I can watch most of these shows again and still be entertained.

You guys have a favorite from the block overall?
Life is not about the second chances. It's about a little mouse and his voyage to an exciting new land. That, my friend, is what life is.

Sir, do you have any Warrants?
I got their first CD, but you can't have it, motherfucker!

Darkwing Duck and DuckTales are easily the best ones (Gargoyles too, but it's a bit of a different beast, IMO) but Gummi Bears and Tale Spin have aged a lot better than I expected them to. OVerall, the block is one of the best things to come from the 90s, animation-wise.

Goof Troop and Bonkers are really funny, as well.  :happytime:

As you can tell from my blog entries, I had a lot of fun going over all of these shows again, even the lesser ones like Timon & Pumbaa and Quack Pack.

Which reminds me, should I bother to check out Mighty Ducks for completion sake? I have the pilot on video, but I can't recall if I saw anything other than that.

Might as well, but it was more Saturday morning than TDA. From what I remember, anyway.

I was always the most into Disney than anyone else I knew, but all my friends liked Darkwing Duck. We all watched that one. So, for memories' sake, I choose that one. Goof Troop is in 2nd place (I absolutely love the 90's Goofy- he's so great). And maybe Gummi Bears in 3rd, but that's the show that I haven't seen in the longest. I think it was the first one to go off the air.
Well, I got so burned out on the road
Too many fags, too much blow
And then Mick and I split up and I said,
"Kid, it's time to take a little bit of a hiatus."
So I got myself a gig at the coffee shop
and I love it.

Gummi Bears was wrapping up it's Saturday morning run when the block started and only lasted the first year. When DW started airing, they took it off.

I think it aired on Disney Channel for a year or two, but I'm not 100% positive- a little before my time.

Warren Spector is writing a DuckTales comic now.

Not the game I was hoping for, but that'll do. ;D

It's just the first step!

He was watching Darkwing Duck to see if it would make a good videogame, too. Personally, I enjoy his perusing of the TDA library. Gives me hope!

I'd like to think that a crossover is possible, but thinking about how they'd have to tie every show together makes my brain hurt. Not to mention that Greg wouldn't be too happy if they tried to use Gargoyles without his permission.

Also, have you guys heard of Vinylmation? They're these little vinyl figurines made in the shape of Mickey's body done to look like certain characters. They're making Disney Afternoon ones now, and TaleSpin is the first. A 2-pack of Baloo and Kit for $25, only available online.

Fine and dandy... except it only costs about $10 to get one at the parks. I think it's a bit of a rip, but if anything else, that is better than nothing. If I can find them at WDW next time I go to the resort, I'll buy some if they're cheap enough.

Darkwing Duck was always my favorite. I really need to go and get more of the Darkwing DVD sets.

Darkwing also has a kickass NES game, but that's another story.

I'm in a nostalgic mood, so do you guys want me to create a set of episodes from a particular TDA lineup to check out and watch?

Here's one from the very first year.

Gummi Bears- "Light Makes Right"
DuckTales- "The Good Muddahs"
Chip N' Dale Rescue Rangers- "Ghost of a Chance"
TaleSpin- "Plunder and Lightning" (I know, it's a four-parter, but hey, bear with me. Or if you'd prefer, replace it with, say, "The Balooest of the Blue Bloods".)

I totally didn't steal it from an old bumper I found on YouTube. Nope. .3.

I most vividly remember the DuckTales/Rescue Rangers/TaleSpin/Darkwing Duck line up. Which is odd since it lasted only one season and I remember watching most of the line ups as a kid.

But I wouldn't mind checking that one out.

I can make a set from that one too, but only if you guys wants me to and you liked this one.

Good compilation of episodes. A particularly good choice for the Gummi Bears, as that's one of the best episodes.

Now that's a good animation block.

Yeah, I think the Gummi Bears ep is the highlight from the set. The DuckTales one is also an interesting post-original 65 one, and the other 2 are fun ones.

And here's a 91-92 one for ya.

DuckTales- "The Lost Crown of Genghis Khan"
Chip N' Dale Rescue Rangers- "Dirty Rotten Diapers"
TaleSpin- "Gruel and Unusual Punishment"
Darkwing Duck- "Jurassic Jumble"
