Skype is trying to kill me. First a hacker worm attacked me with a bunch of spam websites delivered by my contacts, and then I got locked out and my account suspended. What a great morning its been.

Probably should've realized this thread was here before making my last post, oops.
But yeah, Outlaw here (or Cloud from TZ if you prefer); hopefully gonna try to stick around this time and not just withdraw coolly like usual because I don't know what to post about.

Hey, welcome back!
Life is not about the second chances. It's about a little mouse and his voyage to an exciting new land. That, my friend, is what life is.

Don't get why half of Twitter has the Communist symbol on their name. Racism and capitalism are awful, yeah, but mass famines and gulags aren't an improvement. I suppose they mean socialism, but none of the countries they praise as socialist ideals like Canada and Denmark aren't even socialist. I think socialism can work with enough care and thought put to it, but to think it will cure all of America's ailments instead of only some of them is naive. And the number of people who talk about nothing but the evils of one ideology and the wonders of another grows ever obnoxious to me.

Those are probably the Internet Stalinists who have somehow convinced themselves that every atrocity committed by the USSR and other Communist regimes didn't actually happen. Tankies are weird, man.

Democratic Socialism is the future IMO. Totalitarianism and rewriting history are horrible no matter who does it or what their governmental system is.

I'd like to think Socialism will be a viable option in America, and that things like universal health care or universal basic income will become actualities that anybody can attain, but there's too much in-fighting in the Left for that to happen anytime in the foreseeable future. Too many obnoxious leftists or neoliberals or antifas or whatever who think they're absolutely correct, and fail to realize such elitism only alienates people from their cause. I get it, Bernie Sanders was cool. But saying that he would've won a hundred times a week just makes me never want to hear his name again. And because of that, too many people see leftist ideals as a lost cause. People were so up their own ass about cultural Marxism that their beliefs failed to appeal to the average man, and if you managed to make people think the Right are more charismatic and charming by comparison, then you've failed as a movement.

And on a further note, political twitters are absolute garbage. I have no idea how yelling and going "If you don't support my politics, fuck off and die" are going to endear your ideology to anybody outside of your clique. The more you shove your bullshit to somebody, no matter how much you genuinely believe it, that person will likely suffer from backlash and join the opposite side out of spite. And I think this constant bombardment of socialist or alt-right garbage will lead to a massive disillusionment in politics in the near future. Trump, Clinton, and Sanders' faces have oversaturated internet media long after the election is over. I know Trump's a shit president, but his omnipresence among detractors and fans alike will influence a new generation to grow desensitized. For politics amongst generations, the pendulum always swings. From the red scare 50s, to the civil rights 60s, to the hippie 70s, to the Reagan baby 80s, and so on. Sometimes, the eras get shorter, like the movement to get Obama as President because they thought he would offer socialist ideals to the government, only for a new movement of Tea Party-ers to compromise that goal and cause a few government branches to grow more conservative than they were during the Bush administration. Every few years, each political side gets the chance to call themselves the Resistance. And the idea of America going either a hard left or a hard right in this day and age is ridiculous, because as soon as it reaches as close as it can to a certain radical point, it's always going to swing back because of a combination of societal fatigue and annoyance at the political norm, causing people to grow jaded and cynical to whatever they're expected to believe.

I finally graduated as a BA in film, and I realized... I don't really want to do this anymore. To succeed in the industry, you need to be really cut-throat and a smooth talker, neither of which I am. On top of this, I just don't find pleasure from the creative side of things anymore. I've been uncomfortable with my writing for a while, but even camera stuff, I've been losing my touch and interest with.

So I feel like I wasted all of this time for nothing.

Having really long periods of creative burnout after academic work is pretty normal though. I'm still suffering from it.

Update- I didn't graduate. I missed a required class for my major, and fucked up on one of my minor's classes. And I can't take either class until the spring, so I have to wait another year to fix this.

Sorry to hear that Avaitor. I'm in a similar situation - I had to take a medical leave two months back and can't go back and finish until next spring, and even have to redo my entire thesis - so I can relate to your frustration.

I'm pretty depressed myself. Especially since yesterday was graduation day at my school. I've been in a funk looking at photos of all the people I knew graduating and thinking about how everyone is moving on with their lives and I'm stuck for another year. It sucks, man.
