Fall Anime 2012 Clusterfuck [Foggle, Dr. Insomniac, Ensatsu-ken]

Fall Anime 2012 Clusterfuck [Foggle, Dr. Insomniac, Ensatsu-ken]

Hey guys, Foggle here! This season’s installment of the clusterfuck is a bit late (my bad on that!), but hopefully you’ll still enjoy reading our opinions on some of this fall’s shows. And sorry about missing summer 2012… it won’t happen again (as far as you know)! Btooom! No, this isn’t the synopsis to the next Michael Bay movie. Instead, its the title of yet another anime series about people getting trapped in an online game having their lives affected…

A Quick Status Update [Foggle]

A Quick Status Update [Foggle]

Hey folks, Foggle here! I’ve got some personal messages to deliver to all (two of) our loyal readers and anyone else stopping by for a quick read. First of all, I’m really sorry about the lack of activity on our blog during these past two months. We’ve got some good stuff coming down the pipe, but it’s slow-going since we’ve been pretty busy lately. Please bear with us! Secondly, I’m sure some of you are wondering why I haven’t been…

Spring Anime 2012 Clusterfuck [Foggle, Dr. Insomniac, Spark Of Spirit, Ensatsu-ken]

Hey everybody! We’re back with another round of seasonal first impressions! This time is a bit different… and more professional. Everything is alphabetized (how exciting), and the end of the article features a short summary of all the shows we took a look at, along with some notes about our grading scale. Enjoy! Eureka Seven: AO In the distant future of the 2005 series, we get something much more down-to-earth than the Nirvash action of its predecessor. That said, it…

The Ludovico Trials: Happy Jesus Love Joy Edition [Foggle]

The Ludovico Trials: Happy Jesus Love Joy Edition [Foggle]

You know those shitty Christian propaganda cartoons used by fellas like Kirk Cameron to brainwash their children? Well, today we’re going to analyze one! So grab your popcorn and your Bible, ‘cuz it’s time to get downright sacrilegious in this motherfucker! Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned. You know how “thou shalt not steal” is one of those Ten Commandment doohickeys? Well, there’s absolutely no way I’d ever pay money for this awful cartoon, so I watched it on…

A Twist In Fate: The Greatest Story Ever Told [Foggle]

A Twist In Fate: The Greatest Story Ever Told [Foggle]

As a budding writer, I’d say I’m a man who knows his craft. Or, at least, I thought I knew. That all changed a few hours ago. What you are about to witness is the single most amazing piece of literary fiction ever conceived. Okay, not really; it’s a My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic fanfiction. For those of you who’ve been living under a rock for the past year, MLP: FiM is a cartoon comedy about candy-colored ponies singing…

Winter 2012 Anime Clusterfuck [Dr. Insomniac, Foggle]

Winter 2012 Anime Clusterfuck [Dr. Insomniac, Foggle]

This was going to be longer and have more shows, but we kinda’ ran out of time to work on it. Please enjoy what we managed to finish! ———- The New Prince of Tennis Oh hey, yaoibait’s back. Where all but two of the middle-schoolers are in their early twenties, tennis is treated like a DBZ battle, and sucks to your assmar for thinking that girls play sports. Instead, it’s only girly men who can play such stagnant sports. Because…

Return To The Danger Zone (Archer, Season 2 DVD) [Foggle]

Return To The Danger Zone (Archer, Season 2 DVD) [Foggle]

As far as I’m concerned, Archer is by far the wittiest and most legitimately clever animated comedy currently airing. Forget the rampant stupidity of today’s family friendly cartoons and the over-reliance on shock value of modern “adult” animation… Archer‘s dialogue is quite raunchy, yes, and the (very) occasional violence is fairly bloody, but it also sports two things shows like Aqua Teen Hunger Force (recently renamed for those keeping track) and post-revival Family Guy sorely lack: intelligence and actual cohesion….

Maybe You Don’t Watch Enough (The Brave and the Bold) [Dr. Insomniac]

Maybe You Don’t Watch Enough (The Brave and the Bold) [Dr. Insomniac]

Leave it to the most comedic member of the Justice League to spark one of the most significant elements in the show, one that involves talking gorillas of all things. The first act just seems like pandering to Wally West fans, showing how spectacular he can be by chasing a truck while saving civilians along the way. Then as the episode progresses, the Flash is portrayed in a more negative light as cops yell at him while even his companions…

Three Kings (Fate/Zero, Season 1) [Foggle]

Three Kings (Fate/Zero, Season 1) [Foggle]

One look at Gen Urobuchi’s Wikipedia page is proof enough that he’s a brilliant writer and a gifted storyteller. With an exceptional body of work featuring relatively famous and often praised titles such as Saya no Uta, Phantom: Requiem For The Phantom, and Puella Magi Madoka Magica, it’s hard to imagine why this guy hasn’t become a household name amongst anime fans. While Fate/Zero itself isn’t exactly new, the anime adaptation happens to be his latest endeavor… but is it…
