I'm thinking the rationale behind it is similar to when people say something/someone is "gay" because there is a strong disagreeance of opinion against a topic or beliefs of another.

Bigotry does seem to run deep with some people when it comes to bronies. I've said it before that MLP was never my cup of tea and never understood the whole brony thing. But something I won't do is condemn people for liking a series they enjoy. Admittedly I've seen some weird fanfic stuff out there that would make heads spin, but not all bronies deserve to be grouped together into such a negative, stereotypical fashion.

From what I've learned over the weekend, Bronies lost some fan site that posted a bunch of NSFW fan art. I guessing it was due to Hasbro telling them cut down on the pony porn since... you know... this is supposed to be a show aimed at little girls and I would assume that the last thing you would want that little girl who has no idea what a brony is to see an image of Rainbow Dash getting raped or something. Since I did hear they had a nasty habit of not saying it was NSFW. Meaning even if you had Safe search on Google, you would still see these images.

Still, that only might be sexist as in seeing them more as an object. Still doesn't put the pieces together for how Bronies are racist.
