Life is not about the second chances. It's about a little mouse and his voyage to an exciting new land. That, my friend, is what life is.

Sir, do you have any Warrants?
I got their first CD, but you can't have it, motherfucker!

I got to see Demi live again tonight. This isn't a part of her upcoming tour, so instead of doing a full show she only did a few songs, most from her new album but also the singles from her last one and a killer cover of "Stay" by Rihanna, but it was a hell of an experience.

And Cher Lloyd opened for her. I don't know if it'd surprise you if I said that the songs she did for her new album sounded better than the ones I actually knew.

Ten years ago today this awesome album was released, and my fifteen year old self went to Target and bought it for $9.99(Target had them specials back in the day).  It quickly became my favorite album by one of my favorite bands, and has remained so to this day.  I know some people don't think to highly of either the band or the record, but I don't care, love this album to death.

The ballots for this year's HOF inductees:

-Nirvana
-KISS
-Hall & Oates
-Linda Ronstadt
-Cat Stevens
-Peter Gabriel

I'm disappointed that Purple, Yes and 'Mats didn't make it in for another Gabriel induction, but at least we're getting KISS to shut up the fans.

Spark Of Spirit

Too bad, but I can't really argue with any of the inclusions even if I would have had other groups and artists in there first.

I think it's funny that people are of course praising the decision the induct Nirvana(because they changed music and all), but are decrying KISS making it(because KISS was a direct influence on hair metal and all that crap that Nirvana single handedly eradicated in 1991).  Never mind the fact that KISS was a major influence on Cobain, but you're bitching that KISS doesn't deserve it because of all the crap they influenced?  Tell me again the music that Nirvana's influence is directly responsible for?  I'll give you a hint:  look at this photograph, every thing's so blurry, everyone's so fake.

It's like people don't understand the "Fame" part of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.  It sucks, but Yes and The Replacements aren't really famous.  KISS and Nirvana are.

Spark Of Spirit

If that's the case then the Stooges and the Velvet Underground shouldn't be in there. Yes and the Replacements outsold them both.

The one I still don't understand when it comes to being inducted into the HOF is Maiden. They've sold more than enough and only get more popular as the years go by, and have influenced practically every metal band since they started, yet they still haven't got the nom.

But besides Maiden, have you guys been keeping up with Lemmy? His health has gone SERIOUSLY down in the past year, to the point that he had to cut his show at Wacken in half and Motorhead's upcoming Europe and US shows are slimming down a lot more than usual. Apparently he was diagnosed with diabetes about a decade ago, and it's been really starting to pull him down. Lemmy is pushing 70, but he's been fine for so long that it's surprising to see this happen to him.

He can't even drink Jack & Coke anymore, that's how bad he's getting. He substitutes it for wine now.

They aren't exactly a favorite, but I like them well enough and I didn't know where else to put this so...

Motley Crue just announced their retirement, but first they are embarking on a 72 date farewell tour with Alice Cooper, starting this summer.  If they come through Virginia Beach I just might have to check this out.

I might too.

But speaking of favorite artists, Ghost is doing a solo date here in May, without A7X and Deftones. I'm getting money set for tickets now.

Um...I'm gonna need a few (months) on that one. But, good idea.

2009 is a no-brainer, though: Rated R.

And, it also goes without saying:

1994 - The Downward Spiral
1996 - Odelay
Well, I got so burned out on the road
Too many fags, too much blow
And then Mick and I split up and I said,
"Kid, it's time to take a little bit of a hiatus."
So I got myself a gig at the coffee shop
and I love it.
Why don't you take that corner booth,
I'll take your order in a minute...

So uh

This happened. I can die happy.
