A few years ago, Genndy decided to make a new action series for Cartoon Network called Unicorn: Warriors Eternal.

The promos just came out, and it's going to Adult Swim instead. The show premieres May 4 at midnight.

I thought we had a thread for this, but I guess not.

It's a shock that it's going to [as], but part of me wonders if that's to keep the show alive, since Zaslav seems to value adult animation more than child-friendly content.
Life is not about the second chances. It's about a little mouse and his voyage to an exciting new land. That, my friend, is what life is.

Sir, do you have any Warrants?
I got their first CD, but you can't have it, motherfucker!

A new, longer promo has been officially uploaded.

Am I the only one who found Unicorn kind of underwhelming? There were a bunch of interesting components, but I don't think that they ever came together into a very satisfying work. Additionally, the art style felt kind of off to me, which is a shame because I love Fleischer. Emma/Melinda's Betty Boop-inspired look in particular always felt like a poor fit for the series.

It's a shame, because I think Genndy still has it- I love Primal, after all. Maybe it'll come together for a hopeful second season.

Kinda reminds me of how I thought Sym-Bionic Titan was mid despite all the potential.

I actually did eventually come around to SBT, but I would put it below his other shows aside from Unicorn. I dunno, it does seem like Genndy's most ambitious shows never turn out as strongly as relatively more simple projects like Primal and Samurai Jack.

It's also not a coincidence that those are his most wordy productions.

I still say the parts of his Clone Wars series where General Grievous shows up are still my favorite of his work, and yeah, that was very minimal on dialogue. Pretty sure his Grievous only had 3 or 4 lines, compared to how talkative the Grievous in everything else is.
