Let's talk about the cult classic and Brad Bird's directorial debut, The Iron Giant.
Why bring this up now? Because it's coming back to theaters! (http://www.toonzone.net/2015/07/the-iron-giant-to-get-signature-edition-rerelease-with-new-scenes) With new scenes! :shakeshakeshake:
:o I didn't pay attention to the fact that it was getting new scenes.
Shame we won't get it here, but at least I saw it in theaters when it first came out.
If you can watch it on a big screen, I highly recommend it. It was so clearly made to be seen that way.
I barely remember hearing about this movie when I was 12.
I remembered when Cartoon Network marathon the movie for 24 hours. Truly the greatest of times.
I just remember seeing the film on tv. I think it might have been on CN.
The 24 hour marathon was a good time. They did that right around the time the Powerpuff Girls Movie was coming out, and promoted it heavily. I must have caught it at least 2 or 3 times that day.
I guess Brad REALLY wants to remind everyone that he's a good director after the Tomorrowland fiasco.
Go pick up tickets!
September 30 (http://bit.ly/1Ei8biK)
October 4 (http://bit.ly/1LvkbNh)
Saw this in its original run in theaters when first released. Loved it. Now it's getting the proper recognition it rightfully deserves.
I have a need to see this once again in the theater. Just have to hope it'll be playing locally!
Shame I won't be able to see it. But I did see it back when it first came out in theaters, so at least I'm not missing much.
I'll try to do the Sunday encore, since Wednesday's a no-fly zone for me.
The Signature Edition premieres in theaters tonight at 7PM!
The Signature Edition comes to Blu-Ray on September 6. (http://www.toonzone.net/iron-giant-signature-edition-getting-blu-ray-ultimate-collectors-edition-september-6-2016)
That set looks so good.
But it's also way too much, so the regular Blu will surely do.

It's pretty sweet, but.. yeah, that price tag on the Ultimate Collectors Edition is scaring me.
The Signature Edition will be more than fine.
Follow up from my last post: Local theaters didn't play The Iron Giant as I had hoped for. But this is not a big deal since getting that new Signature Edition will be even more worthwhile.
