My cousins fromEngland are here, and along with a bunch of cash, they gave me the following CDs:

Pink Floyd- Dark Side of the Moon
Ozzy Osbourne- No Rest for the Wicked
Led Zeppelin- Celebration Day
U2- The Best of 1980-1990
Jimi Hendrix- Axis: Bold as Love
Deep Purple- Machine Head

Well, I own DSOTM (not the remaster, though), I don't care for Zakk-era Ozzy, and I hate U2, but I can't complain.  :P
Life is not about the second chances. It's about a little mouse and his voyage to an exciting new land. That, my friend, is what life is.

Sir, do you have any Warrants?
I got their first CD, but you can't have it, motherfucker!

  • Iron Maiden
  • Megadeth
  • Anthrax
  • Testament
  • Overkill

Fucking Cali is getting this fucking show, while the top two are touring a few other states. But not here. I'm super pumped for the Anthrax show I'm going to on Friday, but this looks like it'd blow that out of the water.

High on Fire and Exodus aren't even doing this date- just Anthrax, Holy Grail, and Municipal Waste. My friend really can't stand MW, and HOF are the band we were hoping to see the most, so we're not even going.

Why am I talking about this though? You guys don't care.

I don't even know what you're talking about.

Spark Of Spirit

I enjoy reading the band names. Also the many many shows he can see that I can't.

Another band that was supposed to go to this show on Friday was Shadows Fall, but they're not going to be there either. They're... okay. Nothing too awful, but not my preferred type of thrash, so I'm not regretting them bowing out.

This wouldn't be happening if this show wasn't happening at the House of Blues in Downtown Disney. But it's not like we get many other shows like this here anyway.

Jeff Hanneman just died.

And that is the end of Slayer.

Since I don't own a lot of albums, I'll list my top ten favorite artists with my favorite song by them.

1. Judas Priest - Painkiller
2. Megadeth - Peace Sells
3. Motörhead - Orgasmatron
4. Metallica - Battery
5. Iron Maiden - Fear of the Dark
6. Mercyful Fate and King Diamond (tied) - Into the Coven and The Invisible Guests
7. AC/DC - Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
8. Black Sabbath - Children of the Grave
9. Slayer - Angel of Death
10. Pantera - Walk

Yup, my opinions have definitely changed since I last posted here. Figure I might update this list as well as include favorite albums by them:

1. King Diamond - Abigail
2. Judas Priest - Painkiller and Stained Class (couldn't decide which one I like more so tied)
3. Mercyful Fate - Don't Break the Oath
4. Amon Amarth - Twilight of the Thunder God
5. Death - Human
6. Devin Townsend (including Punky Br?ster, Biomech, Devin Townsend, The Devin Townsend Band and Devin Townsend Project, but not Strapping Young Lad. Nothing against SYL, I just include them as separate entities) - Infinity
7. Blind Guardian - At the Edge of Time
8. Iron Maiden - The Number of the Beast
9. Candlemass - Nightfall
10. Black Sabbath - Mob Rules

Black Sabbath's new album should be streaming on iTunes, but somehow, I just can't seem to care enough to listen to it. The lack of Bill Ward just kills my interest.

I've been seeing nothing but praise for it... on the one music forum I go to.

Will be buying the Best Buy version when it comes out.

Well, I own DSOTM (not the remaster, though),
If there's any version of this album you need in your collection, the Immersion Box Set is the one. What I enjoy the most are the unpolished 1972 variant studio recordings before they got their final mix - it's like listening to the songs again for the first time. The early live performances are nice too.
I don't own it, but I'm thinking of picking it up.

From the top of my head, Mike Patton comes to mind as being one of my favs. First found out about him when he started to front Faith No More in the late 80s. The guy has an insanely wide vocal range and is a crazy motherphucker on stage. His vocal range had gained the attention of gaming and film companies for V/A work -- sometimes wonder if he's part demon. I don't like everything he does, but he certainly is entertaining.
