The fantastic pilot from a few years ago has been greenlit! Hell yeah!

Infinity Train got greenlit?!?!?! HOLY TOLEDO!!!! :shakeshakeshake: :shakeshakeshake: :shakeshakeshake:
That pilot was fantastic. I'm happy to hear we won't have to wait as long for this as we did for Ok Ko. Already CN has been making up for the recent drought they've had with Unikitty, Ok Ko, Craig of the Creek, and even that Apple and Onion one isn't too bad. But knowing THIS is on it's way next year? Glorious!
Premieres August 5 at 7:30PM. (https://deadline.com/2019/07/infinity-train-premiere-date-cartoon-network-series-1202644536)
Premieres will continue throughout the week.
Wow, that's great news. Thought for sure this wasn't coming until late Fall, awesome!
The first episode has premiered early. (https://www.cartoonnetwork.com/video/infinity-train/the-grid-car-episode.html)
Just watched. The pilot is really good!
Tulip's parents are divorced. Bit of a cliche there, but her parents probably aren't going to show up until whenever the last episode is. I like that the designs are more detailed than the pilot, like the opposite of how Steven Universe developed. Best shot was the outside in between the compartments, which showed a fellow passenger being sucked up into who knows what in the sky.
One-One is going to be the source of a lot of black humor in this show if this episode was any indication. No Abbicus yet, but I imagine he'll be in the next episode or so. If nothing else, this plus Mao Mao will hopefully appease the Anti-CalArts whining that's been going on in some fan circles. Personally, I think Infinity Train is off to a great start!

Keeping Metal Tulip around is really cool.
Tulip's Reflection is the new One-One, I see. Curious about the new kid's background since I doubt he's another divorce kid.
Season 2 premieres January 6. (https://twitter.com/CNschedules/status/1202352986040741888)
Wonderful that it's next month! :shakeshakeshake:
Can't wait to see what the new protagonist's background is, as well as what role One-One will play this time.
Book Two premieres all this week at 7:30.
Episode 1 is online early, (https://www.cartoonnetwork.com/video/infinity-train/the-black-market-car-episode.html) if you're interested in getting started now. (It's unlocked, so no need for a cable login.)
I had the day off today, so I decided to spend a little time to check out the first episode or two. I ended up binging the first book.
Pretty damn good stuff, all things considered. I saw the pilot way back when, but didn't remember it all that well, so a lot of it was a surprise to me. The world building was terrific, and I really connected with Tulip's story. As a child of divorce, I've definitely been in her place, full of confusion and anger, even though on some level I understood that it wasn't my fault.
It's one that I'd like to get to again. I'll have to buy the DVD.
I still need to make time to watch season two.
Book 3 appears to be semi-confirmed.
This show is confirmed coming to HBO Max, Owen Dennis has been hinting to watch the show on Twitter, and now the show's composer posted a new music track (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RC8nm0_gmBE) on Instagram. He didn't state which show it is, but it sounds suspiciously like IT.
Still got to watch Season 2. Have it in the DVR just haven't gotten around to it yet.

Neat!
Reminds me, I still need to see Book 2.

Show's over. (https://twitter.com/AwestruckVox/status/1359252862715518991)
There's some hope (https://twitter.com/kidscreen/status/1359540507039440900), but it's looking rough.
Why's it looking rough if a CN personnel already said it wasn't canceled??? ???

I want to be hopeful, but the fact that CN/HBO Max have been dragging their feet to renew the show for so long does make me expect the worst.
I'd like to be proven wrong, though. I really like what I've seen.
Okay, it's been cancelled. And by that, I mean the IT fandom's anxiety is cancelled and we're getting season four. (https://twitter.com/hbomax/status/1362099496679800834)
Welp, I was wrong to be suspicious.
Good.
Book Four is the final season. (https://twitter.com/OweeeeenDennis/status/1370075028964876291)
Release date: April 15.
I'm already seeing a push to prevent this from being the last season, which I'm all in for. The show had an 8 season plan, and hopefully it can live up to that.
Well, Book Four came and went, and it was pretty good.
Not as strong as the previous seasons, but it was meant to be a breathier for Book Five, which will unfortunately never happen now, so this is the note we're ending on.
Still, it was a great show for what it's worth.
Also, Book Five was meant to be a movie. (https://i.imgur.com/mMo4ZyM.jpg)
Screw you, AT&T. :wth:
Book 4 was okay, but it seemed too much of what was meant to be a breather season. A lot of the story and character beats felt more like Over the Garden Wall than anything.
Fourth season was alright, I liked it but it's the weakest season. The constant fighting between Ryan and Min gets really old very fast. Kez was funny most of the time, but her constantly getting them into trouble eventually got to be the season's own trope. I did like the music and how creative they got with the cars, though. I liked that it was a prequel season too.
Assuming Book Five doesn't happen after a fan-driven renewal in a couple years, my personal rankings for Infinity Train's four seasons are as follows:
1. Cult of the Conductor
2. The Perennial Child
3. Cracked Reflection
4. Duet
Owen Dennis just struck a content deal with CBS, and his contract even has a clause that allows him to revive Infinity Train!
https://owendennis.substack.com/p/whats-owen-working-on-right-now
This is what the article says quoting him:
"There is also a clause in the deal that says I can still work on Infinity Train if that somehow got picked up again somewhere."
So, no it doesn't mean Infinity Train is revived. But, if he works something out with Discovery and/or CN then who knows?
I don't think an IT revival is likely, but it'd be cool if it happened. Regardless, I like that the clause exists for the minimal chance that we get at least one last feature.
