Disney Animation Studio's is making a movie about an obscure Marvel Japanese superhero team. (https://www.yahoo.com/movies/big-hero-6-exclusive-poster-reveal-walt-disney-86413335667.html) You can't make this sort of thing up.
Teaser trailer. (https://www.yahoo.com/movies/big-hero-6-exclusive-teaser-trailer-walt-disney-86509088837.html)
That was cute!
Like last year's animation test teaser, though, it's still not telling us much.
The first trailer for Frozen was just Olaf and Sven being funny, that didn't tell us anything about the movie either.
I notice that the trailer had neither hide nor hair of Marvel's name or logo. Wonder why...
Info about the cast. (http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/movies/2014/07/13/big-hero-6-character-reveal-exclusive/12535005/)
Huh, I thought this thread had more posts.
But this is a pretty decent cast. It's weird to see that a Wayans brother is the most recognizable person in it, but it's a good thing that it isn't loaded with celebs. I especially like how a a Japanese guy for the main character, since there were fears that Disney wouldn't.

This might be Disney's only outing for a Marvel property. (http://www.toonzone.net/2014/09/disney-planning-animated-marvel-feature-films)
Maybe. The wording of this article is kind of vague. Okay, I get that they don't want to make crossovers with the live-action movies, and that makes tons of sense, but is anyone really expecting that?
Personally, I'd like to see Disney make more standalone Marvel movies. That would make for an interesting roster.
They'll probably just stick to the super obscure properties like BH6. And I don't even mean the ones with solid cult followings, like Moon Knight.
It is for the best, all things considered.
I can't wait until Dark Hawk is released.
I went to Disneyland today and they screened a special sneak peek of the movie at their park.
This movie is totally worth it, guys!
I just came back from a showing with a group, and let me just say that if you're a fan of Disney and/or the MCU's films, I highly recommend it. This has the charm and heart of the former, with the joy and sheer adrenaline of the latter.
Disney is totally on a roll. And the characters are great across the board!
Did you stay in your seats until the credits finished? I did and I loved the surprise, was better than the gag they had at the end of Frozen's credits.
All in all, a pretty entertaining film. Wasabi is my favorite character. It does set up at least a sequel hook or at least some TV adaptation or whatever. Shame that it's popularity will probably still be disciplined by Frozen.
Saw it yesterday. God damn.... Just go see it! Great from the start to the finish.
And yeah, don't go anywhere without seeing the last bit after the credits.
Saw it, thought it was great.
Also, that short before the movie? Awesome.
Oh yeah, the film made it to $200 mill this weekend, and has officially outgrossed both Tangled and Wreck-It Ralph. And that's just domestically, since Disney is notoriously slow with releasing their films in other countries.
Anyway, this is definitely more of an Incredibles to Frozen's Finding Nemo than Pocahontas to Lion King.
Yes, before Daikun or someone else posts it, there is talks of a sequel. But read the article first. (http://www.nerdreport.com/2015/03/11/big-hero-6-sequel-in-the-works/)
Voice actors are rarely the first to know, and Genesis makes it pretty clear that nothing is official, there is just discussion of one. There were rumblings of a Tangled sequel way back, but that's sure not happening anymore.
The film is successful and open-ended enough to warrant a franchise, but just like Frozen, Disney doesn't seem to be anywhere near close to having something substantial enough down to confirm anything.

Oh, my! How'd I miss this?
Anyway, if a sequel is finalized, I just hope they develop the rest of the team. They weren't developed enough in the first movie, IMHO.
I've read more talks of a sequel in the past day or so, but I'd rather not link the article, since its sources are unfounded and it mentions that it could very likely involve Tadashi coming back*. And I just can't buy that for a second.
*his death was in the trailers, so I'm not sure if this counts as a spoiler or not. Hence why I'm not tagging it
Now Stan Lee is confirming a sequel. (http://zeenews.india.com/entertainment/movies/big-hero-6-sequel-will-happen-soon-stan-lee_1585175.html)
I'm in. I quite liked the original and think they could do a lot with a sequel.
I'm not sure where to post this (this can actually belong in many of the threads here, since he worked on a lot of Disney and Pixar movies), but the writer has passed away. (http://www.bleedingcool.com/2016/02/08/daniel-gerson-screenwriter-on-monsters-inc-and-big-hero-six-dies-at-age-49)
I saw that before I headed to work today.
He was a good writer, and helped with a lot of Disney and Pixar's best stuff in recent memory. It's a damn shame. RIP
R.I.P. Daniel Gerson.
RIP. Man was good at his job.
Aww, what? RIP :'(
Fuck cancer.
It's getting a TV series. (http://www.toonzone.net/big-hero-6-tv-series-hits-2017-kim-possible-creators-charge)
My biggest problem with the movie was that as likable as the supporting cast was, they were all underdeveloped in the grand scheme of things, and have more that they could deliver. Having a series
Although I wish that they brought Steve Loeter back as director. I wasn't a big KP fan for a few reasons, personally, but his direction was tight, especially during his American Dragon run.
New info on the TV series. (http://www.ew.com/article/2016/11/03/big-hero-6-animated-series-scott-asdit-maya-rudolph) We also have the 2D designs of the hero team.

I think it's hilarious that the voice of Cyborg is taking over Wasabi now. It'd be even more hilarious if Beast Boy did Fred as well.
Here's the intro for the series. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TeNwMzQEaYk)
The series premieres November 20. (https://twitter.com/DisneyXD/status/920303418199166976)
Well, I guess I forgot this premiered a few days ago. It was pretty much overshadowed by the release of Coco...and the unfortunate news of John Lasseter.
Watch the premiere here. (http://watchdisneyxd.go.com/big-hero-6/video/vdka4172317/01/01-baymax-returns) What do you think?
FINALLY! (https://www.toonzone.net/big-hero-6-the-series-gets-a-big-premiere-launch-event-weekend-starting-on-june-9-2018)
