Let's make a thread specifically for upcoming series. Here you can post news for any upcoming show you might want to discuss.
Ryo Mizuno's newest series is getting an anime next January. (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2017-05-30/lodoss-creator-record-of-grancrest-war-anime-announces-cast-staff-january-debut/.116769) It's called Record of Gancrest War, and it is a fantasy series not tied to video games.
And yes, this is by the man behind Record of Lodoss War and Rune Soldier.

Really eager for this.

The fall season is going to be really nice for sequels. The only thing that could make it better is if Baki got confirmed for fall as well *fingers crossed*.
I like the new character designs. Based on the pictures of people behind Kino there might be more recurring characters in this season, including Shizu and Riku and Kino's master and her student, who I've heard have their own stories just about them in the novels. It'll be interesting to see whether they'll adapt the stories about characters other than Kino and what more recurring characters might add to the series.
Now seems like a good time to rewatch the original series.
Pluto is getting an anime in 2020, and a new Patlabor series is in the works! (http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2017/06/13-1/annecy-2017-le-manga-pluto-enfin-adapt-en-anim?)
2020 :wth: That's actually not bad. I'm just so used to anime getting shitted out faster than via working the animators to death like they did in the 90s. This is good.

Unfortunately, the art style is quite awful, and none of the characters in the original are set to appear.

Final season of Fairy Tail confirmed. (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2017-07-20/fairy-tail-tv-anime-gets-final-season-in-2018/.119087)
That's more than Bleach fans got.
I was expecting them to announce it sooner or later since the upcoming Dragon Cry film was meant to hype people up for the final arc. Good for FT fans, I guess.
In other news, Black Clover's anime got a new trailer. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4iJeJYGqjjk)
From what little footage they show, it actually looks pretty good, though I'm staying skeptical until we see the final product. Pierrot has messed up adaptions far too many times in recent years for me to give them any confidence.
Hoshin Engi and (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2017-07-31/ryu-fujisaki-hoshin-engi-manga-gets-new-tv-anime-with-new-cast/.119532) Golden Kamuy are getting TV anime! (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2017-07-31/satoru-noda-golden-kamuy-manga-gets-tv-anime/.119531)

Another old series getting a new anime. Good to see.
Oh, and good for Golden Kamuy, too.

Who's ready for an anime party on Netflix in 2018! :awesome:
Seriously, they announced a lot of stuff besides the stuff already mentioned here like B: The Beginning (although this one was announced a while back as Perfect Bones), Cannon Busters, Sword Gai and Lost Song. I know people get upset at Netflix when it comes to anime, but I think it's good that they got a bunch of stuff coming. And as far as I can tell most of it doesn't fall into the same category as LWA or the new Fate show where they're making people wait. So, people really shouldn't complain about some of these.
Although honestly it doesn't bother me how Netflix handles anime, I don't have a problem waiting for stuff.
Yeah, considering that no TV networks were mentioned when referencing these series, it's safe to assume that they are all going to be Netflix exclusives. Netflix shifting towards producing anime rather than simply licensing it is a lot better for them and fans imo. The biggest complain about Netflix is that they don't do simulcasts, but if they're in sole control of release, then they can stick to doing full-season releases like they prefer to do. I'm very happy to see them move in this direction, and hopefully it will be successful.
Netflix is getting Cannon Busters?! Sweet! Another excuse to resubscribe.
The way things are going, we may remember this as the day Toonami died.

These are all Netlfix funded productions so they likely won't be airing on Japanese television. It seems that they plan to release all these series simultaneously worldwide.
The new Baki anime will air on TV in Japan in Summer 2018, and Netflix will release it internationally in Fall 2018. (https://www.animenewsnetwork.cc/news/2017-08-24/netflix-premieres-new-baki-anime-series-in-summer-2018-in-japan-in-fall-2018-outside-of-japan/.120483)
I guess people were jumping the gun in thinking that it was a Netflix exclusive, which explains the more vague wording of Netflix's announcement when compared to Devilman Crybaby and CG Saint Seiya. In any case, I'm still excited to watch it regardless. I've started reading through the manga from beginning and it's been awesome so far!
Long wait but whatever. There was a time where I thought there would be no new Baki!!!
Blood Blockade Battlefront & Beyond promo (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXznlDNTKp0) looks so good.
I can't wait. Bones has been knocking it out of the park this year.
Dat animation :swoon: MHA has been excellent this year, so I can't wait to see what Bones brings to the table with BB&B. Hopefully the story will be as strong as the first season's as well, though it'll still be a great time if they go the episodic route and just adapt the manga.
It looks like it's going to be a straight adaption of the manga from what the change in writer and director seem to indicate. That's good enough for me since they could always loosely tie them together without an anime original story-line in other ways. Also with this season they should be able to adapt the rest of the original series in a neat little bow.
Still, I'm glad that when MHA ends I'll be able to go right into this. Season 1 was great and I'm really eager for more.
Based on my glances at the final volume of BBB, it should be a pretty solid endpoint for the season if they aren't doing any anime-original material this time. After that promo, I'm as pumped as ever for the anime's return! The fall season is looking great between this, Kino's Journey, and a bunch of other stuff.
Season 1 adapted the first 5 volumes AND had the anime original story-line. I think it only skipped one chapter that could be reshuffled. And the OVA was from volume 8.
There are also a bunch of two parter episodes in the later volumes, which should make for interesting watching. I'm assuming one or two will be trimmed down in order to adapt more stories, but from the preview it looks like there's a lot of great stuff coming.
Now if only Dark Horse could hurry up and finish off the manga of the original series.
The new Mazinger Z film (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xNOH5QfHQk) is looking excellent.
Love how they used the original theme.
Between this and Devilman Crybaby, next year is looking like a good time for Go Nagai fans.
Definitely. I just hope we get the original Mazinger Z manga released here eventually. It's such a good read.
Also, Funimation has Black Clover and will be Simuldubbing it. The sub will still be on Crunchyroll. (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2017-09-01/funimation-to-simuldub-black-clover-anime-this-fall/.120834)

Anyone else notice Reinhard's ship has testicles now? I know the show was always pretty homoerotic, but this feels too on the nose.
And I checked the production staff, most of them were directors, scriptwriters, and storyboarders for Kuroko's Basketball. So this isn't just gonna be gay Germans in space. This is gonna be gay basketballers in space. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2IbUx_Q2XwA)
I prefer the OVA's character designs and color design. While these are certainly modern designs, they also feel like generic pretty-boyish models you'd see out of any fujoshi-skewing show. And Reinhard's ship is way too overdesigned in the new show. The original's simple and sleek look seemed more realistic and iconic. Regardless, while I have problems with Kuroko's Basketball narratively, the staff behind the anime were skilled so I'd expect this show to be well-made. I'm not expecting to like the tv anime more than the original OVA series, but I don't think it'll be a bad adaptation either.
I still find this whole project unnecessary. I'd rather see something that has not yet been adapted yet get the chance. There's plenty of material out there.

Yeah, the original anime is already content-rich and one of the medium's definitive works. It's like remaking The Wire for NBC or something.
While some could argue that this is primarily a way to expose a relatively obscure classic to a wider audience and a new generation in general, I feel doing an HD remaster of the original and tweaking it just enough to work on broadcast television could also work, but to be fair not as many people would watch that unless they were to pull a Dragon Ball Kai and bring back all of the original cast to re-record their lines with modern sound equipment to update the show's presentation. That would be virtually impossible for a much less well-known property like LOTGH, though.
I'm not really against the idea of a remake, though. I'm just not too keen on those new character designs, but I'll give the show a fair shot regardless.
LOTGH already has a HD remaster, so there probably wouldn't be much point in making another one. I haven't seen a lot of LOTGH, but I'm not too bothered by these character design changes since they aren't ridiculously drastic like in Parasyte's anime. My perspective is that this remake exists to expose it to a new audience in a similar vein to the Space Battleship Yamato remakes. I know many people who refuse to watch classic anime, because "they look old and outdated" (which is dumb but people think it's a valid excuse). I don't think this will be any better than the original (it might be worse), but it will at least expose the series to an audience that would otherwise have never touched it.
Just want Samurai Executioner adapted.
OPM Season 2 being produced at J.C. Staff. (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2017-09-25/chikara-sakura-directs-one-punch-man-anime-2nd-season-at-j.c-staff/.121831)
That's uh.....unexpected, but I'm personally not very concerned. Most of the highlight staff on Season 1 were freelancers, so production moving away from Madhouse doesn't guarantee a drastic change in quality. That being said, the loss of Shingo Natsume as director is didsapointing since he had a lot of connections to talented animators. In the end, only time will tell how this turns out.
One Punch Man Season 2 is pretty much dead to me so all I have to look forward to is Cannon Busters, Baki, New Dragon Ball Super, My Hero Academia Season 3 and Children of Ether.

Based on the info on the website, it seems that Pierrot is trying to re-work Re as a sequel to Root A. With how badly both the original anime and Root A were received by fans, they really should have just pulled a "BE: Kyoto Saga" and adapted the rest as if the alterations to the source never happened. The TG manga is by no means perfect, but Pierrot shafted all the psychological elements and character development in favor of mindless gore and drama. I'm not expecting this adaption to be any better than the previous ones.
BONES lays out what they're working on. (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2017-10-12/anime-studio-bones-updates-on-current-projects-teases-more-for-mob-psycho-100-on-october-19/.122509)
Studio A is working on the A.I.C.O. -Incarnation- series for Netflix. It will be 12 episodes long.
Studio B is working on Blood Blockade Battlefront & Beyond, and were responsible for Mob Psycho 100. It looks like volume 15 of the MP100 manga will have an announcement-- also the manga appears to be nearing the end. So we probably know their next project.
Studio C is in charge of My Hero Academia, and is currently working on season 3.
Studio D did Bungo Stray Dogs and is currently working on the movie.
Studio E is working on the Eureka Seven film trilogy.
Interesting to have a breakdown like that. But now we know just how BONES is laid out. They seem to have it together better than most studios do.
Is Bungo Stray Dogs available in America yet?

Instead of a new adaption of the manga, the anime will be an original story that uses the manga as an inspiration. Interesting take.
And I'll continue to hope that this might lead to a release of the manga over here.
That sounds like a really cool idea. Rather than outright remake a classic, trying to retain its themes while updating the story to something new for modern times could be a great way to get AnJ to be known to more people. If this is good, it could inspire more people to either check out the original manga or classic anime.
The crew behind it sounds solid, too. This is a really cool way to expose the series to a new audience, and hopefully it will make US distributors interested in picking up the manga and/or either series.
Initially, I was a bit disappointed that the AnJ project wasn't a remake, but I think this can be a really cool idea if done right. I'll be looking forward to seeing how this turns out.
I have second thoughts about this project, considering the director hasn't helmed his own series before, and one of the writers was responsible for those stupid Fist of the North Star movies that tried to paint Raoh as the hero of the story. I like the composer though.

Devilman Crybaby looks like it's going to be good. It's adapting the original manga and is directed by Masaki Yuasa. Netflix producing more anime is fine with me, tbh. I have problems with their lack of simulcasts for their TV anime licenses, but they treat their shows fairly well.

It's the new
Garo series. It's stylistically reminiscent of 80's urban action anime and the likes of
Guyver. It's awesome and it's on Crunchyroll. (http://www.crunchyroll.com/garo-vanishing-line-)
Not that familiar with Garo either but that sounds awesome!

Captain Tsubasa is getting an anime remake by David Productions! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUK4zTkcz1U)
The preview looks solid, and while this probably means we won't be getting more JoJo for a while, I'm definitely hyped for this! Also between this, Hoshin Engi's new anime in Winter, and Netflix's Saint Seiya anime, we have three adaptions of classic Jump titles in 2018! I wonder if we might get a few more considering that it's Jump's 50th anniversary next year....
Sweet! This was a great idea!
As for 2018, I'm betting we'll see a few more classic series get brand new anime from different studios. There are a few great ones I can imagine.
Slam Dunk by Production IG
Space Adventure Cobra by Trigger
Rokudenashi Blues by MAPPA
Ginga by White Fox
Otoko Ippiki Gaki Daisho by Madhouse
Circuit no Okami by TMS Entertainment
Kimagure Orange Road by Shaft (or some such studio)
Sexy Commando by Studio DEEN
I'm not betting on all of these, obviously. Some big older series have a chance at making a real splash. But I can imagine some newer series (Promised Neverland, Kimetsu no Yaiba) getting new series at the same time. 2018 is gonna be big for Jump.

It's wrote noting that the Shibuya Production's Cobra: Return of Joe Gillian animated series still appears on track for 2018 based on recent interviews (https://youtu.be/_JRAiRKzWVE?t=19m18s), so that's a possible 4th adaption right there. In any case, it'll be interesting to see if we get any classic anime adaption announcements at Jump Festa this week.
Jump Festa news is coming in:
There's a new Dragon Ball film planned for December 2018. (https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2017-12-15/20th-dragon-ball-anime-film-revealed-for-december-2018/.125269)
Hoshin Engi has been confirmed for 23 episodes plus an OVA. (https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2017-12-15/hakyu-hoshin-engi-anime-new-promo-video-previews-opening-theme/.125361)
Food Wars will get another season in Spring 2018, adapting the "Totsuki Train" arc. (https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2017-12-15/food-wars-the-third-plate-anime-2nd-half-premieres-in-april-with-totsuki-train-arc/.125360)
The upcoming Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs anime got a PV. It is slated for a Summer 2018 release and is being produced by Xebec. (https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2017-12-16/yuuna-and-the-haunted-hot-springs-anime-reveals-cast-staff-1st-promo-video-summer-2018-premiere/.125364)
I wonder if this means Hoshin Engi will be able to cover the whole story. Should be interesting.
23 episodes to cover 23 volumes? That Hoshin Engi anime is going to be seriously rushed. Can't imagine how they'll pull it off.
This new Dragon Ball film is interesting. The fact they're announcing it a year in advance and giving it a December release date means that they're planning for it to be a big event movie, so we can imagine that they'll put some big talent on the project. Toriyama is writing it and providing original character designs, and considering the movie is going to be focused on the origin of the Saiyans, I'm expecting we'll get an exploration of S-Cells and the original Super Saiyan God Yamoshi. I'm expecting we'll see the Universe 6 Saiyans feature prominently in the film, perhaps finally seeing the Universe 6 Saiyan homeworld as well. Definitely a lot to look forward to about this film.
So it looks like the current season of Food Wars will be wrapping up in two weeks, but it'll be back before too long. I figured as much based on the opening and pacing of events. I wonder how much that Spring season will cover. It could either be one cour and cover up to the rematch with Hayama, or it could be two cour and cover the current battle with the Elite 10 which could potentially conclude in the manga well before then. Very curious to see which it is.
Overall 2018 is shaping up to be a great year for Shonen Jump anime adaptations with something to look forward in every season. Really exciting stuff all around.
I'm honestly very nervous about this new DB film being so heavily focused on Saiyans. You all know that I have mad respect for our boy Toriyama, but I still don't quite trust him with characterizing Saiyans after Dragon Ball Minus....
It's cool to see some other popular Jump series get more seasons announced for them. I'm still most eagerly anticipating anime announcements for The Promised Neverland and Kimetsu no Yaiba, though.

So we got a new Mazinger Z, Dragon Ball, and MHA film this year.
Not bad.
Hinomaru Sumo is getting an anime! (http://moetron.news/post/168996345770/according-to-the-cover-of-weekly-shonen-jump-6) :shakeshakeshake:
Hopefully, it will go to a good studio, but damn is this long overdue.
YES! I was reading HS ever since the first chapter was scanlated (in fact, you can read my live thoughts on the first chapter if you dig back far enough into the Currently Running Manga thread), and while I've fallen behind on it this is a series that definitely deserves more exposure and appreciation. An anime could be a great signal boost for it and, who knows, could potentially help facilitate the manga getting licensed if there's enough buzz around it. I really, really hope whatever studio's working on this does as fantastic job as Production I.G. does on Haikyuu to get more people into this excellent series.
I read a bunch of this and it is highly deserving of an anime. It's been running as long as MHA, too. It literally started the issue before. Because there's so much material I hope they adapt up to the very obvious end point that is set up. It deserves a solid 3 cour season run.
Here's hoping it's a good studio. All we need is Promised Neverland and KnY and all the best recent SJ series will be getting an anime. This is great news.
Man, there's a lot of good stuff coming next year. 2017 wasn't all too great compared to the last two years, but this upcoming year is looking solid.
Check out Crunchyroll's trailer (https://twitter.com/Crunchyroll/status/946214388393902080) for all the anime sequels coming next year.
I hope One Punch Man season 2 is actually good.

The spring season just keeps looking better and better.
Unfortunately, it's being written by Geass/Valvrave's Ichiro Okouchi so all that goodwill is doomed to be burnt away.
Okouchi's writing for Kabaneri and Princess Principal was pretty decent, and while its basic plot is based off the manga, he was also the writer for Devilman Crybaby. I don't think Part 5 is automatically doomed just because he's involved.
Why is his jacket blue?
It was Blue in Part IV as well. I think this is going to be more of a continuation of Part IV than a retooled show like the previous series were. The fact they aren't using a roman numeral to denote this series is somewhat telling.
Okay, Megalo Box (https://youtu.be/-j8sX95vkfc) looks like cyberpunk meets Ashita no Joe. Here's hoping it lives up to it.
Animation looks excellent. That woman that heavily resembles Yoko is probably her descendant. That white-haired guy's face resembles Rikiishi, but they probably aren't related, just he looks similar to draw parallels between the rivalry between Joe and Rikishii with these new characters.
So basically it's Ashita no Joe re-imagined as a futuristic Sci-fi? Not exactly a combination that I would've thought of, but hey, I'm down for that.
I need to catch up on Lupin....still on Part II.
So I was wondering why CR and Funi hadn't picked up The Disastrous Life of Saiki K Season 2, and it turns out that it's because Netflix has it (https://twitter.com/NormanicGrav/status/954497719619506181).
I doubt anyone is going to fansub it due to the sheer amount of dialogue, so I guess I won't be watching it until Netflix releases it in the US in (hopefully) 3-6 months.
EDIT: Actually, it seems that Netflix only has priority streaming for it like they do for Seven Deadly Sins Season 2 rather than full exclusivity. Not sure what that means for rights outside Japan.
Not a fan of companies doing that to shows between seasons. They can do whatever they want when it's new, but I hate this kind of thing when it splits seasons up between distributors.
Hopefully its only delayed for the rest of the world and not locked to Netflix.

YES! MAPPA and Nishimura, please!
I wonder how it's going to be done. It's 10 volumes longer than Ushio & Tora, and U&T skipped a lot of standalones and one arc to fit into 39 episodes. It's going to need to be at least 4 cour to fit 43 volumes into one series. I hope they can do it.
But I can't say I'm not excited. This was one of my most wanted anime adaptions. Now can we get Psyren and Vinland Saga?
I am HERE for MAPPA and Fujita!
Booogiepop is getting a new TV anime by Madhouse AND directed by Shingo Natsume! (http://moetron.news/post/171711377170/boogiepop-wa-warawanai-tv-anime-announced-it)

2018 is looking good for anime. This season can't end fast enough.
Hinomaru Sumo's anime is coming Fall 2018 and is being produced by Gonzo. (https://twitter.com/YonkouProd/status/974227463046746113)
The staff is as follows:
QuoteGeneral Director: Konosuke Uda
Director: Yasutaka Yamamoto
Character Designer: Kii Tanaka
I'm not gonna lie, my hype for this anime is kinda dead now. Gonzo hasn't produced a good anime in nearly a decade, and even at their peak, they lacked animation consistency. I hope to be proven wrong, but I've been let down too many times like this before...
In better news, Muhyo & Roji is getting an anime in Summer 2018! (https://twitter.com/YonkouProd/status/974231699910377473)
Now, this is something I was definitely not expecting, and it's a great tie-in for the new sequel manga! I hope it turns out well.
:imnothappy:
So much for this series getting the proper adaptation that it deserves. It could have really taken off as a new sports-genre hit among anime watchers, but instead it may just suffer a similar fate to something like World Trigger.
I looked up the staff and saw what they've done.
The general director has directed DAYS, Galaxy Express 999: Eternal Fantasy, The first 278 episodes of One Piece, and a lot of Sailor Moon episodes. He has some experience in the genre. The director has done random episodes all over the place but never a full series.
If there's something to worry about I would be more worried about the actual animation quality. Gonzo animation has never been particularly consistent.
Muhyo & Roji is cool news. It's only 18 volumes long, too, so they could cover the whole manga. I still really want to see something like Psyren or Mx0 get a shot.

World Trigger actually improved in sales after the anime ended. So Toei actually did end up helping it in the end!
DAYS was a pretty garbage sports anime adaptation, so that's certainly not a good sign. I mean, what I read of the manga was fairly average by genre standards, but it at least managed to be a decent read until where I stopped, but the anime made OK material even worse by dragging out the pacing and making it feel outright boring, even during the dramatic scenes.

I'm not really sure how it relate to T&B yet other than general set up, but I will be sure to give this a chance. I'm just not sure how it's a part of the new Tiger & Bunny project. They don't say how it's related.

Vinland Saga by WIT of all people. Karakuri Circus by VOLN (they co-produced U&T). New City Hunter film. Everything else that was announced for this year already. There's so much good stuff. I'm running low on things I want aside from a KnY anime.
And just like that I'm interested in anime again.

First two minutes of Megalo Box. (https://youtu.be/mwK_2XsBWk0)
Lot of Joe symbolism there. But there looks like there might be differences in how this story is going to go. Very interested to see this.
Karakuri Circus has been confirmed for 36 episodes. (https://twitter.com/pKjd/status/977465548740083712)

With Fujita's involvement, I'm optimistic that this will turn out well.
36 is an oddly specific number. It's 10 volumes longer than Ushio & Tora and it'll be 3 episodes shorter so I'd hope he has a plan. But he did a great job with the Ushio & Tora anime so he probably knows exactly what he's doing.
Not that I'll complain. It's not like we'll be getting the manga anytime soon.

High School DxD Hero
Full Metal Panic! Invisible Victory
Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 2202
Kakuriyo -Bed & Breakfast for Spirits-
Space Battleship Tiramisu
Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These
Golden Kamuy
That's a pretty hefty catch for them. They're also doing MHA season 3. Still wondering if anyone is going to get Megalo Box or Cutie Honey. I think just about everything else has been picked up for Spring.
FMP! Invisible Victory is listed to have 12 episodes. (https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2018-03-29/full-metal-panic-invisible-victory-anime-listed-with-12-episodes/.129683)
I'm going to assume this is split cour, because there's no way they can cover 7 novels in 12 eps.
The staff listed shows that the first six episodes covers a novel and a half. That means they're doing 3 novels this cour.
It's not being rushed, so clearly it's having another cour later.
In other news, here's Megalo Box's OP (https://youtu.be/4PPjBgpaYaA). That is excellent.

This basically sooths my concerns. It seems like they might be skipping Dancing Very Merry Christmas (which probably explains why it got that audio drama adaption), though from what I hear, it's not 100% essential so things should be fine.

I'm surprised that we're possibly getting one before a Kimetsu no Yaiba anime, but I guess it just goes to show how huge of a success Neverland has been.
Promised Neverland was their biggest out of the box success since MHA. Makes sense to jump on it right away.
I'm pretty certain KnY will have an anime announced by the end of the year. Jump is pushing it and its sales are going up. If they want it to break out like they clearly do then it's going to need that anime boost.
I just hope the right studio gets it. The last thing I want is for Pierrot to get it after Black Clover wraps up.
Between Pierrot for Black Clover and freaking Gonzo for Hinomaru, we've kinda got the short end of the stick lately as far as new Jump adaptions go. Hopefully TPN will break the trend.

Additionally, the anime will be on the noitaminA block (https://twitter.com/yonkouprod/status/999553194605789185?s=21)
I guess that means it will be an Amazon exclusive over here. :(

If it's noitanimA then it'll probably only be a cour. So it'll probably just cover the first arc.
Fine with me since, like I said, there's no place to end it on a satisfying note after that.
Edit: I should specify that the first arc is about 30-ish chapters, and the current one has basically been going since as the Nameless/Lucas arc which is only now coming to a head with its climax. If the anime was longer than 11-12 episodes then it would end in the middle of an arc. It's better for the first season to be short.

Thank you for being literally anything other than the three worst studios. :worship:
Ufotable has some great animation and it looks like they nailed the artstyle here. I've never been too interested in what they've put out, but I've never thought they weren't good at what they do. This is a perfect fit for them.
Here's a clearer look at the visual:

It's awesome to see Nishimura directing another Fujita work! If anything, this is providing me with further confidence that this adaption will turn out great!
Nishimura! Awesome news. Hopefully they also get him for the inevitable Souboutei anime. Actually looks like they got most of the Ushio & Tora staff back for this.
Also, there's a trailer (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D8ylqUEEO84) out featuring clips from the first episode.

This is probably the fastest a WSJ series has gotten an anime like.....ever. My only guess is that they were already planning it before the manga even came out, which is an interesting move. In any case, I'll looking forward to checking it out.
The Promised Neverland has a new PV, and Aniplex USA confirmed that it will stream on Crunchyroll and Hulu. (https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2018-12-22/aniplex-usa-to-stream-the-promised-neverland-anime-on-crunchyroll-hulu/.141196)

Poor One Punch Man fans.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba really can't come soon enough! (https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x74q5bw)
This combined with the LA premiere in a theater for North American fans really shows that they are giving this series special treatment both in it's home country as well as for international audiences. They must have a lot of confidence in it's success, which makes me happy since it's by far one of the best things currently running in Jump, and deserves the same amount of recognition that series like Mob Psycho 100 and My Hero Academia get.
Coronavirus making all sorts of anime come back from the grave. (https://youtu.be/ViVnzjalOsc)
Man, this brings back memories. I've been really out of the loop on anime over the past two years except for the major titles, but I'd be down for a return to Higurashi.
Well then.
