This show came out 23 years ago today. Crazy, huh?
Since we already have threads for a lot of the TDA shows, we might as well have one for this show was well. I still say that Monterey Jack and Gadget (the furries aside...) are stronger characters that make up for Chip and Dale's dullness.
This show actually used to air inside Playhouse Disney before it got it's name. Take a look at this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9e85sQZHQ4
I do remember watching it before school in the mid to late 90s, think it was on at 7 am our time, before that at 6 and 6:30 they ran The Ink and Paint Club/Mickey's Mouse Tracks, which aired the old theatrical Disney cartoons.
They aired it right after The Ink and Paint Club and Mickey's Mouse Tracks before school from October 5, 1998 - July 2, 1999
The Early Morning Schedule (In Eastern Zone) was this on Weekdays (Playhouse Disney would start at 8:30AM)
5:00AM The Ink and Paint Club
6:00AM Mickey's Mouse Tracks
6:30AM Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers
7:00AM Aladdin
7:30AM Timon and Pumbaa
8:00AM Goof Troop
and on Weekends was this (Playhouse Disney started at 6AM)
5:00AM The Ink and Paint Club
6:00AM Mickey's Mouse Tracks
6:30AM Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers
7:00AM The Little Mermaid
7:30AM Jungle Cubs
8:00AM Bear in the Big Blue House
8:30AM Rolie Polie Olie
9:00AM PB&J Otter
9:30AM Amazing Animals
Yea that sounds about right. We must've had the Pacific feed, because we were in Mountain Time Zone.
Chip n' Dale are getting a new series on Disney+! (https://variety.com/2019/film/festivals/annecy-disney-reveals-chip-n-dale-reboot-monsters-at-work-details-1203239279)
It's not going to be Rescue Rangers--it's more like classic Chip n' Dale--and they seem to be in the style of the new Mickey Mouse shorts.

It looks and sounds cute. I wouldn't be opposed to a Rescue Rangers revival ala NuTales, but I'll take it.
Well, we managed to get both Ducktales Reboot AND The Three Caballeros, so who knows? If Donald can pull double duty, so can his old archenemies.
Trailer for the new Disney+ movie. (https://twitter.com/disneyplus/status/1493601110740852737)
I blame the Lego Movie for this shit.
That looks fucking terrible.
You know, I didn't realize The Lonely Island was still a thing until now.
Who is this for?
Guys who like Andy Samberg so much they don't care he doesn't bother to pitch up his voice?
Shit on the Alvin and the Chipmunk movies all you want, God knows I do, but even they pitched up/made the celebrity voices sound like what they sounded like in the songs/cartoons.
At the very least, the new Rescue Rangers looks like something Andy Samberg's crew would make. I don't personally care for it since I didn't like Hot Rod or watch Palm Springs, but at least it feels like somebody made it. Compared to Space Jam 2 or Wreck It Ralph 2 where those feel like they're made by algorithms.
Disney XD will be airing a marathon of all 65 episodes of the original series starting May 19.
Among all the various cameos in this that everyone is talking about, one of the less noticeable ones is Foghorn Leghorn and Henery Hawk appearing on a box of a Tyson's Looney Tunes frozen TV dinner in Chip's freezer(alongside "Ice Age" ice cream and a "Frozone" dinner). Which, checking the internet really quick, was available for sale no later than 1993.
Jeez clean out your freezer Chip, that shit is radioactive by now.

So does this mean she had maggots crawl out of her vagina? Gross.
So, how's the new movie? I've been seeing more surprisingly positive reviews than I was expecting.
Watched a bit of it, and I don't know what to say. It's not boring, at least. But the amount of cameos goes from mere pandering to insanity. Blacksad, Randy Marsh, Mr. Natural, four Seth Rogens, Butt-Head, one of the Fraggles. If you like John Mulaney, you might like it. Definitely not anything like Roger Rabbit, and it's probably not for fans of the old TV show either, but it's more like watching a group of friends realize they have enough celebrity power to trick Disney into letting them make a feature-length shitpost. And I almost admire that.
Yeah, it having Lonely Island or whomever attached to it made me think the film is an real life troll job. Its why I can't even hate on it, and will probably see it for myself soon.
Wasn't as bad as I thought it would be & kinda glad they didn't go with that one 4chan leak where Pluto was supposed to be the villain (though it would have made a bit more sense for him to be the bad guy.)
Oh yeah, and I saw this over the weekend.

This is my review.
