I know that its not Avaitor's cup of tea and in general it was never that popular of a show, but honestly its easily one of my favorite things to EVER have come out of Cartoon Network, and I say it rightfully deserves its spot on our list. In fact now I really feel up to re-watching it, yet again (and I just re-watched the entire series last year, so it says something when I already want to get back into it so soon afterwards).
I really wish that this series could get a DVD release.
I only ever saw somewhere around 5 episodes, but I really enjoyed it whenever I got a chance to watch it.
So would the time Megas XLR came out count as Cartoon Network's Silver Age?
Toonami was still around and not terrible, so I guess you could say that.

Debatable. It debuted' May 2004, about a month before the infamous "revamp" that a lot of people associate as being the "beginning of the end" for CN.
I guess it all depends on who you ask. IMO, CN didn't really start to suck until about late 2005, early 2006-ish (when Camp Lazlo became their golden boy). I'd kinda say it is, but that's just me.
A month? I guess I'll have to investigate that time period to see if that's true imo.
I say CN's Silver Age started the second Samurai Jack went to Toonami. Jack is my favorite cartoon...ever but it made Toonami seem like any other block on the channel and Toonami started to lose its luster right after that. Funny how I had a friend who thought the same exact them. Seems small but I guess long time cartoon fans just know when something is wrong
Hmm, the golden age would probably be from CN's start to when the last of the original eight Cartoon Cartoons premired. The silver age would probably start when Sheep in the Big City premiered to around when PPG ended and Camp Lazlo started. That's when the bronze age starts, and I don't know what we're into now.
Don't take that too seriously though. Just speculation.
Thank the lord himself we're no longer living in the Lazlo era.
As much as people rag on some of the stuff CN airs now, that era was by far the worst.
I still have yet to actually see this show(I know I know), since this was one of those series that aired on CN during the period when I didn't watch CN at all. It's been on my "Cartoons I maybe will eventually get to maybe" list for a while, and I know it's available for download, so now all I need is the drive to actually seek the show out and watch it.
Maybe tomorrow.
I think this might be up your alley, Chalmy. It's kind of a specific taste, but it really works for those who can get into it.

Yeah, this is certainly all speculation. CN is too young to have clear cut ages

Good lord, like I've said before I agree. I am glad I kind of stepped away from cartoons at that point. I guess I was busy playing Xbox and PS2 or just ignored the channel more than I remembered. Regular Show alone tops that era. I think they had Lupin and Case Closed on and off then. That probably was the only plus

Okay, I'll download and try this out, since my damn Smallville download is taking it's time finishing up.
Smallville? Really?
u no leik?
I've only seen 2 eps, and I actually kind of liked one of them, the one where Jor-El talked to Ma Kent. But from what I've read about the rest of the series, it gets insane before long, in the bad way.
I tried to watch it, and none of it made any sense. It was like the 6th season of Buffy all over again.
Back on topic. I am guessing this show has no DVD
All it ever got in regard to a legal DVD release is a one episode DVD that was packed into a Cartoon Network Action Pack comic from DC Comics around the time the show premiered.
On the bright side, it is on iTunes and I believe Zune as well.
Well well, what do we have here? (https://twitter.com/GeorgeKrstic/status/263493222783926273)
Megas XLR on Toonami would be good, but I can't say that I have any faith in Cartoon Network being swayed by a bunch of emails from fans. If George Krstic could actually make that happen, I'd have a reason to watch Toonami again. But I'd settle for Megas getting a DVD release or to get a run on Boomerang.
I did buy the 1st season of Megas from iTunes, but I'd still like to have a complete DVD set of the show.
Wait, is he ng about making a new season?

Mr. Krstic didn't specify. He just said that he was "in talks to bring it (
Megas) back". I don't know if that means a new season of 1st run episodes or reruns on Toonami. if it's the latter, I just hope that the episodes aren't shown after 1 AM. I'd like to see
Megas XLR on TV again, but staying up past the wee hours to see it isn't an option for me.
What made me think he might have been talking about doing another season is the Kickstarter talk. I don't think Kickstarter raises money for show renewals. I may be wrong though.
Gonna commit thread necromancy here, but Happy 10th Anniversary (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WGSDHSt0ZxMhappy).
That vid makes me feel that, if done right, a live-action Megas movie would be pretty awesome.
But yes, I too wish a happy 10th to this great show. I might celebrate later by watching some eps later.
A while ago, I got this little CN comic book set (too meager to call a graphic novel) for free. It's made out of celloid lifts from some episodes of their shows (Samurai Jack, Billy & Mandy, KND, and Megas), and has a bonus DVD of the "Lowbrow" pilot.
It's a nice little thing to have.
12-year anniversary panel at Anime Expo next year! (http://toonamifaithful.com/news-titmouse-animation-announces-12-anniversary-megasxlr-panel-for-anime-expo-2016)
It can't believe it's almost been that long.
The show's creators are interested in making a new Thundarr the Barbarian series. (https://twitter.com/GeorgeKrstic/status/1335637929985597443)
I'd watch that.
