Well, this is sudden.
It wasn't planned or anything. Just...bye, Bob!

Iger was good for the company, at least financially. He was responsible for patching up Disney and Pixar's rocky relationship, helped helm Marvel and Star Wars into the studio's modern day money makers, has been revitalizing the US parks after years of stagnancy, and brought the animation studio back to the forefront after a weak decade.

He's also responsible for the increasing homogenizing of their features, kept signing on for their shitty live-action remakes, and pushed for one of the scariest mergers in their increasing monopoly of the industry. Not to mention how he kept a blind eye to Lasseter's harassment, and stayed indifferent to his employee's pay raise for the longest time.

He was probably still a better CEO for Disney than Eisner, but even he I argue had higher highs, despite having significantly lower lows.

As for Chapek, well, he's the one currently pushing for the depressingly overwhelming IP domination of the parks and is swiftly anti-union. I'm not jazzed for his tenure.

Bob Iger has reclaimed his position as CEO, at least for the time being. (https://screenrant.com/disney-bob-iger-exit-delayed-coronavirus-closures)

Bob Iger is leaving (again) on December 31, this time for good.
Interestingly, he WON'T be replaced by Bob Chapek, but instead by Susan Arnold.

As long as Chapek is out, I'm happy with the results. You will not be missed.

I won't lie, I wasn't expecting this.
