Title: Frozen
Post by: Daikun on June 21, 2013, 08:24:26 PM
Disney's newest feature is arriving in November, and they're slowly releasing previews of the movie right now.

Screenshots of the movie (http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/movies/2013/06/17/frozen-disney/2389171) (as posted earlier by Avaitor)

Disney's being a little more secretive than usual with this one, which is a little odd, but hey, it's probably for the best.

The art is plenty impressive, but the teaser isn't as much. Seriously, it's an Ice Age trailer, only with Scrat replaced by the snowman. But it's only a teaser. Tangled's original promotion wasn't great, and that turned out pretty well.

I won't fully judge the movie until I actually see it, but the trailer doesn't really do anything for me, and the the more I hear about it the more it sounds like they're trying to make lighting strike twice with the Tangled formula.

Here's a more recent trailer that actually shows off the film a bit. (http://video.disney.com/watch/frozen-trailer-2-4e72716f17de11bb019fd56c)

Looks like they're playing up the action and comedy elements for this trailer like they did with Tangled. I'm sure there will be some emotional stuff in this.

Apparently there's something about one of the princesses having a frozen heart.

Don't forget, this is a Lasseter-ran Disney production. For every couple of likable side characters, there has to be some kind of sob factor.

Probably a melting snowman.  :>

Disney needs to get a better marketing staff. I'm sure the movie would be better than what the trailer was showing, because frankly, that looked terrible. It had neither the look nor feel of a Disney production; it felt like one of those wannabes who wanted to shove forced laughs down 5-year-olds' throats with as many obnoxious gags as possible.

Yeah, that's the current Disney marketing strategy. Give extended focus to the comedic parts, to appeal to boys who hate girly-related things, but be sure to sell the princess angle for the girls too.

Sadly, they seem to do a really sloppy job of melding both in. Disney is REALLY pushing for this to be another Tangled, but I'm not so sure if it's going to be as successful.

Because having "another" white princess isn't enough for the community on there to complain about.

I don't really see the big deal, since Disney referenced TLK, as well as the other 3 main films of the Renaissance period in one of the trailers for Princess and the Frog. If reminding the audience of their most popular films is what will bring people in, more power to them.

Other than David Spade being the lead character.... I'm drawing a blank on what people hated about it. New Groove is probably one of the most entertaining films, if only cause it felt different from what people expected from a Disney Animated Film at the time. Sure, I can understand the time it came out when DAC quality was wavy.

You just nailed why. It was really different from what Disney was doing, plus it was when the general quality of the films was going down.

That being said, times are different now and we can see it for the good movie it is. But I remember being in the minority when it came out of people that liked it.

To be fair, yeah, I know some people in the Disney community (and Doug Walker) who don't like how TENC is written more like a Warners short than a traditional Disney movie.

But what's wrong with that? Do you really want every movie to be a fairy tale or Lion King? Never mind the Disney fans who REALLY hate that one.
Title: Re: Frozen
Post by: Spark Of Spirit on October 18, 2013, 08:13:20 PM
I think there's a sizable group of haters for every Disney movie. Just ENG was unfortunate to had come out when public opinion on animated Disney films was pretty low. It was hard convincing some people I knew to give it a chance but they usually liked it when they did.

Post by: Avaitor on December 01, 2013, 11:34:58 AM
Man, I'm not going to lie, I absolutely loved parts of it, did not care for others at all. I don't want to spoil the film by getting into what I did and didn't like until more people go and see it, but it's such a hit or miss one for me.

I will say that I've had both versions of "Let It Go" on a loop on and off since I saw the movie, however.
Title: Re: Frozen
Post by: Avaitor on December 02, 2013, 03:40:13 PM
Over the 5-day spread, Frozen made $93 million, $66 mill of it on the 3-day weekend alone. This blows away both Tangled's 5-day totals and Toy Story 2's previous Thanksgiving record. So yeah, this is going to be a big deal for Disney.

But seriously, "Let It Go" is an incredible work. If you haven't heard Idina's version (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3G31wNCwskI), this is a wonderful representation.

Saw this film today. All in all, pretty enjoyable. Laughed at certain parts of it. I thought the songs were decent. Probably not in my Top 5-10 films, but would still watch again. Olaf became my favorite character, he wasn't as stupid as I thought he was going to be.

Also, kind of liked that post-credits scene. Was kind of hilarious.
Title: Re: Frozen
Post by: Avaitor on December 05, 2013, 07:51:54 PM
I missed out on the post-credits scene, since I wasn't expecting one. There's a slight chance that I might see it again, so I'll have to stay after this time.

As for Olaf, I have to admit that he wasn't as annoying I was expecting based on the trailers, even if he's not among my favorite comic relief characters. But the thing that makes him stand out is how he adds to the plot, as an extension of Elsa's power, the appearance of Olaf is her way to remind Anna of their past and help her find Elsa, something she must have wanted subconsciously. It's a great touch which adds some layers to their story.
Title: Re: Frozen
Post by: Daxdiv on December 10, 2013, 08:30:28 PM
Man, people sure do like bringing up that animation error with Elsa's braid going through her arm. I honestly didn't notice that when I saw the film the first time. Like a few seconds of an animation error will tarnish my like for this film, this is the guy that grew up watching shit like TMNT where every episode had an error or two in them.
Title: Re: Frozen
Post by: Avaitor on December 10, 2013, 11:14:25 PM
The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin all have bigger errors, yet their reputations aren't tarnished at all by them.

The haters will fade away in due time. Not to say that it isn't a problem, but a relatively minor one in the longrun which only a small minority is grappling on to.
Title: Re: Frozen

So I heard Frozen's soundtrack became the 4th animated feature soundtrack to reach Number 1 on the Billboard Top 200.The other 3 were Curious George, Pocahontas and The Lion King. I'd say it's pretty well deserving all things considering, the songs were obviously one of the highlight. Well, then again... I do like Robert Lopez's work, so I am biased towards that. ( Has seen Avenue Q Off-Broadway and Book of Mormon on Broadway.)

I really like the soundtrack, too. "Let It Go" in particular is now one of my favorite Disney songs, which is saying something.

Anyway, I saw this yesterday with some family. Overall it's good, but I would have liked more scenes with Elsa.

Unfortunately, I missed Get a Horse.  :(

Yeah I finally got around to seeing it recently as well, at the cheap theater here that plays movies about to hit DVD...........it's pretty good (far better than I was still expecting, given how underwhelmed I was with the trailers), but I still don't get how this became one of the biggest movies ever. Finally saw it last night, we showed it for Movie Night at the library, and it broke all previous movie attendance records. (Previous record holder, if you care, was Alvin and the Chipmunks, followed by a tie between Cars and The Incredibles.)

I have to say, I loved it, especially how it broke so many Disney stereotypes.  (Knowing Hollywood, now everyone will have a new set of stereotypes that we'll see in movie after movie.)

Actually, I've heard that there is talks of doing a new short, ala Tangled Ever After. Some ideas that have been thrown around include a prequel explaining how Elsa got her powers (this was kind of confirmed by the voice of young Elsa in the movie, but Disney hasn't backed it up), or something with Anna or Olaf, suggested  by Jennifer Lee.

We'll have to see.

If you hit the usual suspects up (tumblr, certain sects of the Disney community), you'll find people complain that the main guy doesn't look Japanese enough in the teaser, and that the lack of Asian actors confirmed for the voice cast so far is disappointing.

[9:57:08 PM] Shadow Gentleman: But I?m sure it won?t cause the detraction of the entire kingdom or anything, right?
[9:58:15 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: Dead dumbass parents are dead!
[9:58:31 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: I'm surprised they didn't kill themselves earlier.
[9:59:00 PM] Shadow Gentleman: They probably cause their own death by some stupid means.
[9:59:05 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: Well at least they're going with the dutch look for this.
[9:59:25 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: The last time Disney suprerficially adapted HCA they went all corsican on us.
[10:11:28 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: CRAAAAAAWLING IN MY SKIIIIIIIIIN!
[10:13:24 PM | Edited 10:13:30 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: So many songs... and none of them particularly good.
[10:16:30 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: So what the hell is this movie supposed to be about? Post-partisan depression?
[10:16:53 PM] Shadow Gentleman: Letting go.
[10:18:55 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: I read that as post-partum depression, and that made me think Elsa gave birth to Olaf the mammalian way.
[10:19:21 PM] Shadow Gentleman: Who says she didn?t
[10:19:42 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: Red Hairing got dumped!
[10:19:46 PM | Edited 10:20:02 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: Like that's why Olaf came to be. He's made out of vaginal  fluid instead of natural water.
[10:20:08 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: Shameless Oscar Song.
[10:20:44 PM | Edited 10:20:50 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: Dammit if only we were still doing UTCS.
[10:20:55 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: God, a negative blip review of Frozen.
[10:21:05 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: ...that would open up new doors for us.
[10:21:05 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: I WANT TO DO THIS SO BADLY...
[10:22:21 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: Hey we did do a mock review of Beauty and the Beast.
[10:23:16 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: And now Elsa is Miyuki.
[10:23:18 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: DISCUSS.
[10:23:41 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: At least she doesn't have an Onii-sama to dote on.
[10:23:45 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: She only has an Imouto.
[10:23:52 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: True.
[10:24:07 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: Why do people fap to Let It Go?
[10:24:29 PM] Shadow Gentleman: Because the simplest songs always get the most attention.
[10:24:31 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: The song makes no lyical or structural sense.
[10:24:41 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: Its not simple though.
[10:24:52 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: A simple song would have a good structure.
[10:25:01 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: Let it Go HAS NO STRUCTURE.
[10:26:31 PM] System Fan: https://twitter.com/_ototu_/status/493789533318569985
[10:26:41 PM] Shadow Gentleman: It?s really the most uncreative song.
[10:27:40 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: So apparently Disney's idea of "Not-Scandinavia" is Wisconsin.
[10:27:54 PM] System Fan: same difference?
[10:28:03 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: I know this might tumblry, but where are the natives?
[10:28:13 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: Shouldn't there be like eskimos or something?
[10:28:19 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: Instead it's just stone trolls.
[10:28:22 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: The fuck's up with that?
[10:28:51 PM] Shadow Gentleman: The natives are called something else. I heard Kristoff was modeled after them.
[10:29:23 PM] System Fan: oh yo Rac
[10:29:48 PM] Ukari Bakosi: Hey.
[10:29:58 PM] Ukari Bakosi: What is tonight's topic?
[10:30:05 PM] Shadow Gentleman: This is them http://www.nativevillage.org/Archives/2009%20Archives/Feb%201%202009%20News/2-1-09-I195%20V1/Saami%20Council.jpg
[10:30:19 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: Frozen.
[10:30:21 PM] Shadow Gentleman: Dalek watches Frozen. We laugh at his misery.
[10:31:18 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: So basically this movie is vapid ditz wants to marry random guy, emobitch sister says no, I'M A MONSTER!!!!, and now Snow White and the Huntsman.
[10:31:24 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: Yep.
[10:32:00 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: GREAT JOB DISNEY! HAVE AN OSCAR!
[10:33:04 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: I'd be okay with The Wind Rises being snubbed, but how it got snubbed is really eye-rolling.
[10:33:05 PM] Shadow Gentleman: That summary is now on Twitter.
[10:33:19 PM] Ukari Bakosi: Once again, I can understand liking the characters but the plot is as dry and thin as a communion wafer.
[10:33:50 PM | Edited 10:34:02 PM] Ukari Bakosi: And the latter only takes three seconds to finish.
[10:34:13 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: The only reason it won was because the Animation section of the Academy was a bunch of Avaitors.
[10:34:18 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: And now....
[10:34:23 PM | Edited 10:34:30 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: the analrapist.
[10:34:26 PM] Shadow Gentleman: I would have preferred Ernest & Celestine winning, since I?ve heard good things about it.
[10:34:39 PM] Ukari Bakosi: Ah, yes, I remember seeing the ballots for that category.
[10:34:51 PM] Ukari Bakosi: More than half of them was "I don't watch cartoons."
[10:35:02 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: I would have prefered Monsters U being NOMINATED.
[10:35:05 PM] Ukari Bakosi: 25% was "I only saw Frozen."
[10:35:13 PM | Edited 10:35:28 PM] Shadow Gentleman: ?I left my kid at this movie and did other stuff."
[10:35:34 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: "What are movies?" - The Academy
[10:36:34 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: These are the people who gave The Artist best picture.
[10:36:46 PM] Ukari Bakosi: The system is broke.
[10:36:46 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: You expect something else?
[10:36:56 PM] Ukari Bakosi: Well, less broke and more "We don't give a shit."
[10:36:58 PM] Shadow Gentleman: And it will never change.
[10:37:06 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: But imagine if we gave choices for movie awards to the people.
[10:37:21 PM] Ukari Bakosi: Frozen would have won everything.
[10:37:33 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: No, Rise of the Guardians would have won everything.
[10:37:39 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: If Tumblr was running the Academy.
[10:37:55 PM] Ukari Bakosi: Oh, yeah, if it was Tumblr, that would totally be the case.
[10:38:09 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: The Tumblees.
[10:39:30 PM] Shadow Gentleman: They?d have ?Most Diverse Looking Female Identifying Individuals? next to ?Cute Guys That Make You Go I CANT?.
[10:39:34 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: Random Guy seems like a bro.
[10:39:41 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: Benedict Cumberbatch would win every award.
[10:39:53 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: Wait, which Random Guy?
[10:39:55 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: The vendor?
[10:39:59 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: Kristoff?
[10:40:01 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: No the Prince.
[10:40:05 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: Oh, Hans.
[10:40:11 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: Okay.
[10:40:17 PM] Ukari Bakosi: Aka "That's not how you write a villain."
[10:40:25 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: SPOILERS.
[10:40:32 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: *lays another curse on Rac*
[10:40:44 PM] Ukari Bakosi: Oh, like you would have been shocked either way.
[10:40:57 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: Well he didn't seem to villanous.
[10:40:58 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: Rac, stop making excuses.
[10:41:14 PM] Ukari Bakosi: Because they don't even give clues to his true nature.
[10:41:28 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: *starts sending out the new wasps' nest*
[10:41:32 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: Toupee Douche seems like the villain.
[10:41:53 PM] Ukari Bakosi: I have the vaseline ready this time, Marquis.
[10:41:58 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: No, Kristoff's the villain.  Because being out in the nature for so long has given him a raging fear for civilization.
[10:42:10 PM] Ukari Bakosi: And a boner for animals.
[10:42:21 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: Or the trolls are the villain, because they were the ones who hexed Anna. They secretly killed her parents and gave Elsa her ice powers.
[10:42:25 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: They did everything.
[10:42:41 PM | Edited 10:42:46 PM] Ukari Bakosi: Someone just emailed about a dude named Albert.
[10:42:47 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: 52 minutes left... so far no shits have been given.
[10:43:06 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: Or Elsa's the villain, and it's an accurate adaptation of The Snow Queen.
[10:43:47 PM] Shadow Gentleman: She originally was the villain. There?s even audio of her as such.
[10:44:12 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: As opposed to being an EmoBitch.
[10:44:42 PM | Edited 10:44:50 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: I'VE COOOOOOME SOOOOO FARRRRRRR TO LOOOOOOSE IT ALLLLLLL
[10:44:51 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: In the end.
[10:44:51 PM] Ukari Bakosi: In her defense, her parents and some trolls taught her that if she doesn't stay sheltered from society, then she'll destroy everything.
[10:44:53 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: It doesn't even matter.
[10:45:00 PM] Ukari Bakosi: ...Which happens anyway.
[10:45:11 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: STOP SPOILING THE FUCKING MOVIE.
[10:45:12 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: But Rac, the parents were stupid.
[10:45:21 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: Rac, quit being a buzzkill.
[10:45:21 PM] Ukari Bakosi: I'M NOT SPOILING ANYTHING.
[10:45:29 PM] Ukari Bakosi: YOU JUST SAW HER COVER EVERYTHING IN ICE.
[10:45:36 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: Rac, quit being a buzzkill.
[10:45:39 PM] Shadow Gentleman: http://i.4cdn.org/co/1406581735969.jpg
[10:45:42 PM] Ukari Bakosi: IT'S IN THE DAMN TRAILERS.
[10:45:55 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: Rac, quit sounding like JesuOtaku on a brony bent.
[10:46:12 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: CRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWLING IN MY SKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIN!
[10:46:13 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: Next, you'll be using emoticons.
[10:46:21 PM] Ukari Bakosi: ALL FROZEN FANS ARE LESBIAN RAPISTS. >:c
[10:46:33 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: THESE WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUNDS THEY WILL NOT HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLL!
[10:47:17 PM] System Fan: oh dear
[10:47:20 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: So a giant blobby sperm monster just kicked them out.
[10:47:35 PM] Ukari Bakosi: His name is Marshmellow.
[10:48:03 PM] Ukari Bakosi: ...Wait, how did they know the thing's name anyway?
[10:48:10 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: Magic.
[10:48:11 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: Whelp.... now they gotta spend another hour climbing the mountain... A-GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIN.
[10:48:25 PM] Shadow Gentleman: https://twitter.com/ShadowGent/status/493951069089583105
[10:48:41 PM] System Fan: Brilliant Shadow
[10:48:46 PM] Ukari Bakosi: That quote was taken out of context.
[10:49:01 PM] Ukari Bakosi: Not ALL Frozen fans are lesbian rapists.
[10:49:08 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: "Not all"
[10:49:37 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: I am litterally mentally writing the UTCS episode as we speak.
[10:49:50 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: Write the script anyway so we can do it for a YouTube video.
[10:49:58 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: And just replace any animation with pictures from Micki.
[10:51:15 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: And now we're really ripoffing X-Men.
[10:52:32 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: And now for the Dreamworks reject characters.
[10:53:48 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: Since Mahou's not doing the Frozen review, you can always do one, Dalek.
[10:54:05 PM] Ukari Bakosi: No.
[10:54:07 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: I have to rewatch this with Juu.
[10:54:14 PM] Ukari Bakosi: He must make a Frozen cover album.
[10:54:14 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: We have to do this right.
[10:54:41 PM] System Fan: mhm quite
[10:55:20 PM] System Fan: want one of us to do a cover of 'Let it Go' but do it bad on purpose
[10:55:24 PM] System Fan: ?
[10:55:36 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: That's not what I was referring to.
[10:55:45 PM] Shadow Gentleman: We?d have to do it with Foggle
[10:55:52 PM] Shadow Gentleman: We need his silly voices.
[10:55:53 PM] System Fan: ah yesh
[10:55:57 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: Have Rac's sister sing it.
[10:55:58 PM] Ukari Bakosi: Indeed.
[10:56:13 PM] Ukari Bakosi: Marquis, what have I said about joking about my sister?
[10:56:47 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: These songs suck.
[10:57:21 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: Rac, be lucky I don't make worse jokes.
[10:57:29 PM] System Fan: so doing a bad cover of em would be pointless?
[10:57:34 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: Like the ones I made about Elie Wiesel on that Lorax commentary.
[10:57:45 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: Demi Lovato already did a bad cover though.
[10:58:42 PM] Ukari Bakosi: Oh...yeah...that. I deleted that from my memory.
[10:59:39 PM] Ukari Bakosi: Where are you in the movie now, Dalek?
[10:59:54 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: Don't tell him. He's just going to spoil you some more.
[11:00:23 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: HIDDEN MICKEY SPOTTED.
[11:00:27 PM] Ukari Bakosi: I wasn't going to spoil the kiss.
[11:00:38 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: The open mouth tongue kiss.
[11:00:40 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: Between Anna and Elsa.
[11:00:49 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: And Hans and Kristoff.
[11:00:57 PM] Ukari Bakosi: It was pretty boring, to be honest.
[11:00:57 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: They all kiss together.
[11:01:04 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: It's like Hungry Hungry Hippos, but with tongues.
[11:01:07 PM] Ukari Bakosi: I mean, they didn't even take off their clothes.
[11:02:02 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: BECAUSE I'M A MORON!
[11:02:16 PM] Ukari Bakosi: ...What?
[11:02:16 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: AN EMOMORON!
[11:02:21 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: Oh, Elsie.
[11:02:56 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: I don't get how Anna's turning into Anna Paquin.
[11:03:04 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: Literally.

[11:03:30 PM] Ukari Bakosi: True what?
[11:03:32 PM] Shadow Gentleman: No.
[11:03:35 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: Exactly.
[11:03:37 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: Remember when Rogue had lines in X-Men movies.

[11:04:14 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: -post from the future
[11:04:31 PM] Ukari Bakosi: Remember when Transformers films were good?
[11:04:42 PM] Ukari Bakosi: ...I'm trying so hard to keep a straight face.
[11:04:54 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: Ah now he's had a random heel turn.
[11:05:01 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: Oh, Rac.
[11:05:05 PM] Ukari Bakosi: Told you. Random.

[11:05:34 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: if you hadn't spoiled this I would litterally stop watching the movie right here right now.

[11:08:51 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: They're both ripoffs of Wicked.
[11:08:55 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: Especially that insanely stupid ending.
[11:09:14 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: With those two and the Oz movie last year, I wonder how hard Disney is for Wicked.
[11:09:19 PM] Foggle's Fecal-Flavored Fellatio: Because they seem really hard for it.
[11:10:14 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: I WANNA LOVE IS!

[11:11:29 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: Ok... the only thing that would top Maleficent's bullshit if Elsa was Anna's true love.
[11:11:47 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: You know... like in Maleficent.
[11:12:00 PM] Ukari Bakosi: That would have been hilarious.
[11:12:03 PM] Ukari Bakosi: I wish they did that now.
[11:12:26 PM | Edited 11:12:29 PM] Lord Dalek Burned Your House Down...With the Lemons!!!: It guess they were saving that for Maleficent.

Where were you guys watching this? Or, what were you using to talk with each other while you were watching this. Skype? I legit don't know, but it sounds like it would have been fun watching Dalek's meltdown watching this film live.  :D

Anyway, I think Frozen is okay. Definitely overrated. Definitely not better than Tangled. Definitely should not have beaten The Wind Rises or Ernest & Celestine for the Oscar. But, I didn't hate the film or anything after I watched it. It's just not nearly as good as the hype surrounding it suggests it is and the plot makes no goddamn sense when you think about it. It does annoy me that it's become this whole phenomenon now, when it doesn't really deserve it. My props to the animators, though, because the snow/ice effects and character animation were pretty excellent (though they should have spot-checked for a few pretty glaring goofs). If only the writers wrote a better story.

In honor of Dalek's brave sacrifice last night, I wrote this to commemorate the event.

Quote"The hate glows bright on Thaumatropy tonight.

Not a Brozen to be seen.

Opinon isolation

And looks like, we?re not keen.

Our distaste howling like the rapid fans outside.

Couldn?t like the film, Heaven knows we?ve tried.

Don?t let them hear, don?t let them know

Join the chorus singing ?Let It Go?

Cry out them feels, write Elsanna

in the sauna!

Melt the snow, melt the snow

Let the hate burn bright and strong

Melt the snow, melt the snow

Our hesitation?s gone.

Here we stand

Sick of Disney?s scrawl

The bashing goes on.

Guess the cold bothered Dalek after all."

I will say that Frozen is pretty far from the best thing Disney's ever done, and the moment I saw it, I felt that the screenplay needed at least another draft before being ready, but I'm mostly just happy to see Disney take their thunder back from Pixar already. It's quitely been happening in the past couple of years, but now it's official.

I have a tendency to find that some of you guys have rather overblown, extreme opinions on shows or movies that you watch during your Skype chats, so I tend to not listen to them and just judge the material for myself. On the other hand, Avaitor loves Disney, so of course he'll be more inclined to praise their films, and since I trust his opinions I listen to them, but take them with a grain of salt. Meanwhile CX will say that it's just OK and that he doesn't agree with either side/extreme, so that he sounds different and is therefore cool as a result of being individual, but he forgets that only I can do that because I'm naturally the most awesome member of this board, so thus when I finally see the movie, my opinion will be the only correct one and all the rest of you have to just sit there and take it.[/fact] :>

That's a bit unfair since Pixar doesn't have a movie out this year to compare, but then, as much as I liked Tangled, I didn't think it was anywhere near Toy Story 3, WALL*E, or Up and none of their other 3D movies are anything great, in my opinion.  :??:

But, whatevs. You like what you like.
Title: Re: Frozen

It's probably still fair in comparison to Pixar's recent films. Brave sucked, IMO. I haven't seen Cars 2, but I also haven't heard good things about it. Monsters University was decent, from what I've heard, and I still want to see it, but it still doesn't measure up to their top-tier stuff from what people have said about it.

At any rate, I've always found Pixar to be overrated. I love Up, Monsters Inc., and Toy Story 3, and find TS 1 & 2, Wall-E, and A Bug's Life to be decent (but not masterpieces, like most of them were made out to be). I never cared for Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Cars, or Brave, though.

Monster's University was a good prequel, but I'm more interested in their originals.

Still, I happen to be a fan of Pixar's best stuff, so I'm clearly biased.

It's more of a combination of quality and box-office results, since Frozen did laps around Monsters University. And I still quite like it, but I can also say that I would have been fine if it was never made. I probably would have been fine without Frozen being made as well, though.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm very rarely (if ever) serious during the Skype chats.

I think Frozen is okay. It's probably my least favorite theatrical Disney animated film (that I've seen), but eh. I just like clowning around.

Yeah, I don't think any of use hate Frozen (besides Dalek), but we do mostly dislike it, or in my case are very indifferent towards it.

But tearing something down creates better humor then building it up, so there.  :>

I still like Frozen, sure people probably over rated it a lot, but that never hampered my enjoyment of it. I'm still waiting for one of the Disney parks to put in a Frozen theme ride, not this Meet the Princess or the Frozen Summer Fun they had when I went there a couple of weeks ago.
They're working on stuff, but the plan right now is to replace the Norway section of Epcot with a complete Frozen overhaul, primarily the Maelstrom ride, which I'm personally not for. The World Pavilion is supposed to be a representation of some of the most wonderful countries in the world, not just another quick cash grab to make money off of Disney's many films. Not that they don't already do that, with the numerous meet and greets in each section, but this isn't sitting well with me.

I'd actually much rather see a new ride be added in Hollywood Studios, which really does need the momentum. That's why they added the Frozen Summer Fun stuff there, since it's been in need of something new for a while. The rumor is that HS is getting a major Star Wars overhaul in the coming years, but it's going to take a little while before that gets off the ground, so the Frozen stuff was a quickie that seems to be working for the park right now.

I don't think Frozen is perfect, but I love just about every bit of it. Some parts of it didn't make much sense at all, but not enough to make much of a difference. Also "Let It Go" may be my favorite Disney song ever.

I'll make a man out of You is my favorite ever Disney song, it's so goddamn catchy and fits the whole morale of the story really well..!

Also I'll take the credit for the Olaf drawing there, I too am jerking around when i talk of things on skype though (although saying it was worse than Tom and Jerry was just pushing it, ouch...) I'd do the same stuff to things I adore for giggles  >_<

I utterly despise Frozen, so for once in my life I actually agree with Dalek. But we're hardly serious in the group chats unless we have to be.

Oh yeah, I somehow forgot how much you can hate things sometimes. Your burning hatred will melt the snow.

Dalek's commentary for the movie that beat The Wind Rises and Ernest & Celestine. (http://www.mediafire.com/listen/0jeleb3md3ne0no/2014-07-29_19-39-01.mp3) I'd define Dalek's emotions toward the movie throughout the commentary, but it's right in the title.

The best thing to come out of "Let it Go" was Obama ordering Putin not to take over the Ukraine.  He's just gotta let it go.

"The Cold War never bothered me anyway!"

I would kill to see a fanfic of that. It'll be better than most of the Elsa/Anna fanfics, anyway.

B-but, lesbian incest. :(

Game of Thrones has really made the concept of any incest seem so game to me, now.

I used to be repulsed by it. Now my reaction is nothing more than: "Eh, I've seen worse, I feel indifferent to this."

Also, I still haven't seen Frozen yet, but as far as Disney movies go, Wreck-It Ralph was amazing, and Big Hero 6 looks awesome, so I think it's safe to say that they are slowly overtaking Pixar in quality, who I quite frankly haven't found interesting since Up (though I do still want to see MU), and even more frankly always found to be highly overrated for the most part.

Speaking of Putin and frozen, I'm waiting for him to accept Vin Diesel's ice bucket challenge.

I forgot that it came out after Up, to be honest, but it's still been a while since that came out, and Pixar has been doing shittier with their output in general.

That show has more recaps than fucking Lost did. Every time I've seen my parents watching it, it's never the actual show, but a recap. Is it that complicated? Or just so shit-written that it's hard to follow?

To the people who think this won't happen- the same pattern of actors accidentally pre-confirming it, only for the studio to decline for years until we get closer to the reveal is exactly what happened with Toy Story 4.

But hey, maybe if Disney doesn't send this to lesser talents and comes up with a strong enough story, this'll be good.

This is the most obvious news ever. Disney has been cashing in hard on this movie since the first one came out. If they didn't make a sequel (the single most obvious way to cash-in on something), then they would be rather bad at what they do as a business.

If we're lucky it will be enough to quell Frozen-mania for awhile and we can stop hearing about it all the time.

Well, there is also the short that's in front of the Cinderella movie.

But yeah, it's about time that Disney just up and confessed it. Now if they'll only do the same for the Wreck-It Ralph sequel that's been making its way across the rumor mill for a while.
