Welp, with the Anime/Manga Protagonist tournament over, I think it's time for us to finally do the Anime Ending Theme tournament! While this should probably be self-explanatory, just in case anyone might possibly be confused, this competition is for the ending credit sequences of anime series, not the endings of their stories. Since it's been four months since the end of the Anime Opening Tournament, I feel that's been enough time to get out of the burnout feeling we had towards another music-based tournament, and I also just really want to do this one now anyways.
Because people have shown disinterest in the early rounds of previous competitions because of an overload of nominations that they do not recognize, I have decided that it is necessary to reinstate limits to the amount of nominations everyone can nominate, as well as add a maximum cap to the amount of nominations total there will be. Looking back in the Anime Opening nominations thread and counting up the average of nominations most people made as well as how many people nominated stuff for that competition, I have decided that the absolute maximum amount of nominations there will be for this competition will be 128 entries and no more than that. Since there were 8 people who participated/nominated entries in the last competition, the maximum amount of nominations anyone can make will be limited to 16 entries. This does not mean you need to nominate 16 entries, it's just how many you are allowed to make if you so choose. As always, this competition will need at least 64 entries before it can get started. This leaves the range of nominations allowed for this competition between 64-128 different entries.
With that out of the way, here are some guidelines to keep in mind while making your nominations:
1. This competition is for anime endings, which means the actual ending to the show. Not just the song. This should be obvious, yeah, but I'm just making sure everyone understands this before they make their nominations.
2. Do not nominate anime openings. Only endings. This should also be obvious, but again, just want to make sure.
3. You may nominate endings to anime movies, though they must function like those of anime tv series. I will judge them on a case by case basis to see if they fit or not.
3. You may nominate english-dubbed or other foreign language dubbed versions of an ending if you wish, but you must make note of that when you make the nomination.
4. You can only nominate different versions of the same ending if the visuals are significantly different.
5. In regards to the above, while I'm allowing it because of various circumstances, I feel that, unless you absolutely have to, you should only nominate one version of a particular ending. Too many of the same could make for a repetitive competition, and is also unfair to endings that only have one version. Just something to keep in mind.
6. Also, dubbed endings count as a different version of an ending, so keep that in mind.
7. As always with these competitions, please add a link for which to find each ending on either youtube or another video-sharing site.
8. In the case you cannot find a youtube link for an ending, please post the next best thing. What I mean is, give me the link to an episode of the anime that features it or a clip that has it's song and visuals, and I'll try to figure out a way to edit it and maybe post the ending by uploading it on my personal youtube account.
To re-state: The minimum amount of nominations needed to start this competition is 64 entries and the maximum is 128. The maximum amount of nominations a member can make is limited to 16 choices. The maximum time for the nominating period will be until the new year; midnight on January 1st. I feel that should be sufficient enough time for anybody interested to compile and post their choices. Additionally, if the maximum limit on total nominations is reached before then, the nomination thread will be closed promptly and the competition will start earlier.

No. In that circumstance, you may only nominate an original and dubbed version of an ending if the visuals are also at least somewhat different between the two, or the song in the dubbed version is not an exact cover/translation of the original song.

I misread your previous post is all. I thought you were opening up more nomination slots since we were at the minimum number and only 2 days are left.
Since that's not the case, you may as well start now. The nominations have been open for a while now, and nobody has made a new one for 2 whole days. I sincerely doubt that you're going to get any more, since if anyone else was interested, they would've nominated their choices by now.
True. I wanted to wait since some people have been known to take their while getting their nominations in (with the OP tournament Spark pretty much waited until the last day, iirc)...but at this point I do get the feeling that the others just aren't interested in this one. I'll lift the limit and let you guys make more nominations. There's plenty of space until we reach the total limit for this competition as it is, anyways.
Tell you what, if more people nominate before the deadline and there are still spots remaining after that, go ahead and include the 4 new ones that I nominated. If no new nominations come before the deadline, then just forget about those 4, since I'd rather keep the competition at a perfect 64 in that case, which just works out really well for the types of tournaments that we do.
