Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts

Probably my favourite Dreamworks cartoon at the moment. It's a pretty fun post-apocalyptic romp that I'd describe as "the colorful end times landscape of Adventure Time mixed with the plot of Fallout, glued together with the urban music and vibes of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse." It was actually the show's cool street art aesthetic mixed with the use of Atomic Drum Assembly's "We Out Here" in the second teaser trailer that put Kipo on my radar back in December. The first season released on Netflix back in January and was an absolute joy that I binged all morning/early afternoon, and stands as an animation highlight of that month alongside Book 2 of Infinity Train and Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken! for me.

Season 2 premieres June 12.
