Devil's Third had been in the 'future releases' section of the Wii U eShop for quite some time. While the E3 silence was bad enough, now we're seeing that the game isn't even listed in that section anymore.

Wow. Horrible news. Itagaki continues to get fucked over by publishers. Yet another case against region locking, as well...

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that NoA is basically cancelling the NA release of the game, and the worst part is that anyone who really wants to play it here can't even import the game from Japan.

But then again, if they aren't localizing it, why be so hush-hush about that? It'd seem a lot easier to just release a statement saying that the game is not coming out in NA.

What's extra silly is that they are localizing it. It's confirmed for an English release in Europe and Australia. This is Fatal Frame 2's remake all over again...

This is pretty much the standard practice for publishers these days. They prefer to sweep games under the rug and pretend they never even existed in the first place over telling the fans what's going on.

It's so stupid. I could understand them not releasing it here for the fact that it probably won't sell, but being tight-lipped about it only encourages people to become more curious and complain. If they aren't going to release it in NA, then just say it, and save people the trouble of speculating what is going on.

Itagaki hasn't really explained anything either, but that could very well be a clause from Nintendo.
