It's not their finest work, and is certainly bloated, but some of the tracks are excellent IMO. I love Storm In A Teacup, Turn It Again, Hump De Bump, and Make You Feel Better. Wish they hadn't dropped Rolling Sly Stone from SA, that one's fantastic.

Life is not about the second chances. It's about a little mouse and his voyage to an exciting new land. That, my friend, is what life is.

Sir, do you have any Warrants?
I got their first CD, but you can't have it, motherfucker!

Must have taken some SPEED today because... I'm nearly half way through the final order on my 999 list. Might be ready by Tuesday. Getting excited now.

;D
Well, I got so burned out on the road
Too many fags, too much blow
And then Mick and I split up and I said,
"Kid, it's time to take a little bit of a hiatus."
So I got myself a gig at the coffee shop
and I love it.
Why don't you take that corner booth,
I'll take your order in a minute...

FINALLY done with the ordering and pic-snatching on my Top 999 Singles of the 1990's list. Actually, I was done Tuesday afternoon. Just need the ambition to start doing the linking and all that. Wanted to share a couple of insights in my Year of Labor on this project:

A good contender for Most Pointless Song of the 1990's is 702's "No Doubt." Also the title of the album it's from. Almost 70% of the song is the chorus repeating. You should hear it, it's incredible...y annoying. You really do start thinking they're finished...but then they do it again. And again. And again. And it's a terrible chorus too. Gotta get down, to what it's all about, see I want you, and that's no doubt. Repeat for 2.5 minutes of a 4:20 song (exactly 4:20, no jokes or I'll roast you- try me).

And... by the way, worst song of the decade, hands down, is thus: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5giWfpANMac I was literally disgusted when I clicked off of it (early in the summer), but forced myself to listen to the entire thing. I don't know how, I reached my peak point of outrage several times.

Oh yes...I almost forgot:

The acoustic version of "Fake Plastic Trees" (on the Clueless soundtrack) is markedly superior to the album version.

And Pitchfork claimed "Nightswimming" was R.E.M.'s best single of the decade? Royal steaming bullshit.

Iron Maiden- "Rime of the Ancient Mariner"

THis is probably my best music to inspire me during writing. Sometimes on a loop. :P

Zooming at the Zoo - "Go to Hell"

The song playing at the dance club when pre-teen Asia Argento actually expressed a desire to go back into the demonic church where everyone was dying. In the 1989 film, The Church. No, she decided dancing with her friends was the pits and the hip thing to do was to go to an evil church where her father jackhammered himself to death a few hours earlier.

Paramore - "Fast In My Car"

So I like this new album.

Spark Of Spirit

Glad to hear it, I like it too.

Jars of Clay - Flood
"The world will never starve for want of wonders, but for want of wonder." - G.K. Chesterton

Cult of Luna- "I: The Weapon"

A bit of a gap from this year for me. It's good so far.
