I like to view it as an underdog beating a giant, like in those sports manga that you're always reading.

Granted that, it's kind of hard to imagine MM as an underdog, but it sort of fits the bill considering that it wasn't a very well appreciated game during it's initial release, and only gained a really strong fan following several years later (much like The Wind Waker, for that matter). Super Metroid, on the other hand, was always an instant hit, which is why it was probably more expected to make it through the last match.

Ah well, I suspect SMG2 will do it proud. SMG2 is currently my prediction for the winner of this tournament.

As for this match-up, I'm going to have to respectfully put Max Payne lower on my list, while acknowledging that it's a game I'd like to check out someday.
