Nice job deleting my post, EK. I'm stil trying to decide if you actually were dumb enough to forget you ever said this, or if you're just pretending you never said it out of embarrassment. :awesome:

Ever said what? I said in an earlier post that I did once consider SA to be one of my favorite games (including it's sequel). I however, never said that I consider them to be better games than the classics (which is what you accused me of). Where exactly did you ever find that I said that?

Way to damage control, you little worm. :sly:

Word of advice: if you want your case to look legit, make it before sneakily trying to delete all the evidence. If you've really got nothing to hide here, why delete my post? You could've said "that proves nothing" upon seeing my links immediately. Fact is, when you called SA one of your favorites, you also believed it to be "better" than the classics. Man dude, you're even dumber than usual today. You're almost remotely close to being half as dumb as gunswordfist. You should be ashamed.

I do remember you commenting on one of my TV.com blogs saying that you think the SA games took the great gameplay of the 2D games and improved on them with 3D potential. The comment was deleted though. Most likely it was because TV.com did that to a lot of blog comments, but I also suspect a possibility that you found a way to have them deleted yourself, out of shame for your bad opinions.

Spark, I'll send you the links if you wish. Just remember that E-K doesn't consider them legit cause he doesn't claim they are technically superior in these posts. Instead, he just calls them some of his favorite games that ever existed... as if that's any better. :P

First off, calling a game one of my favorites is not the same as saying that its better than another game. I've gone on record numerous times saying that my favorite games are not what I consider to be the best. Second of all, you're the one who is acting so anal about this shit in the first place. I didn't want to derail this thread with this BS, but clearly you're just so hellbent on doing it anyways. If that, so important to you to speak to me in such a demeaning way and completely disregard the whole point of this thread then be my guest. I'll kindly wait until you're done and satisfied with your nonsense before I bother posting up the next match.

Lol at talon owning ek. It's like the little guy suddenly grew a brain.

I don't get all this fuss, seriously. Talonmalon, what exactly are you trying to prove, and hope to accomplish? Is it really that bad to like the Sonic Adventure games over the classics (I've played none of them, so I wouldn't know)? Will finding proof of this really amount to anything? What will you get out of it? I guess you might get to make someone look stupid, but making a big deal about what some guy said on the internet a long time ago...that's kinda dumb, and it's making you look kinda dumb as well. Not just because opinions can change quickly and frequently (to illustrate a personal example, earlier this year I considered Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood my favorite anime, and now it's not even in the top 10. There's evidence of this on this very forum, I'm not hiding nothin'.), but also because E-K's also right about the fact you can have favorites but not think they are the better "objectively" than something else. Him considering those games to be his favorites in a post a long time ago isn't really good evidence unless he specifically stated he considered them objectively better than the classic ones in those posts as well (and I checked both quotes you cited when that post was still up... and found no such evidence).

Why don't we all just forget about this nonsense and continue with the competition, eh?

I was kidding. Didn't mean to sound like an ass. If it came out that way, I  do apologize.

EDIT: Meant to add this in earlier. But you might be interested in knowing that, back when I was looking through old stuff, I found an old blog post I made years ago, saying that SA2 was my own favorite in the series. So that if anything should make my trolling clearer (Basically, my point had no weight ). I just assume you were okay with some off-topicness because you kind of laughed at Avaitor when he said it was annoying to read through earlier. :P

So again, I didn't mean anything harsh from it.

I don't mind some off-topicness at all, but you and GSF seemed to be really fixated on this one thing, which was really bugging me. Look, I never denied that I used to love the hell out of the SA games (and I still do like them, at that). Hell, I even posted earlier on this very thread that they used to be some of my favorites (before you even posted links to it, in fact). But I honestly never once recall saying that I considered the SA games to be better than the classics. I DID say that I considered them to be the best 3D Sonic games, and that I thought they proved that Sonic could work in 3D, but in terms of comparing them to the classic games, I couldn't even do that a few years back because it had been way too long since I had played any of the classics to actually even make that comparison. The reason I was getting pissed at you and GSF for making that accusation is not because I was embarrassed of something like that or afraid to look like an idiot (because, when have I ever been ashamed of any of my own opinions before?). I was just getting irritated at you guys insisting a point that I consider to be flat-out false, and a misrepresentation of my opinions (either in the past or present). To be clear, if I had actually said that Sonic Adventure 1 and/or 2 were better than the classics at one point in time (which I still never actually did) then I wouldn't deny it, unless I flat-out didn't remember it or something, but I'm absolutely positive in this case that I never said any such a thing. I would just say that I had a different opinion back then, if that were the case.

For that matter, I didn't deny that I had ranked it over other games that I now consider to be far superior to it. I just never called them better than the classic Sonic games, but even if I did, I wouldn't give a crap about it because that just would've been my opinion in the past. Now, as for my opinions on the SA games now: I still defend them as decent games, and consider them to be extremely flawed but still charmingly fun platformers in their own right. I certainly see no shame in liking them.

Anyways, I apologize for deleting that post of yours, earlier, but the reason I did it was precisely to avoid getting into an argument with you over this. I'm really bad with confrontations of any kind, and I was getting really ticked off with you pursuing the argument by linking to stuff that I had already stated myself before that, and treating it like a big reveal against me. In retrospect, I was probably more of a dick for not letting you speak your mind, so I'll accept fault for that.

At any rate, I don't plan to go into this stuff anymore. I'll just post the next match tomorrow and ignore GSF's obvious attempts to further derail the thread like he has a tendency of doing almost all of the time.

Hey! That's 1 more than you have! :>

gunswordfist

I wrote two sentences and suddenly I am the one who is trying to derail the thread?  :wth:Just quit your crying and just start the next round, you schoolboy bitch. :bleh:

Anyway, I dropped the subject and just went on with being on topic.  I mean I could bug you to death if you want me to...

I understand, E-K. As for me bringing out those links and all that, I think at that point it was more of a personal challenge to find an old quote of yours and less about anything else, because I was kind of determined to find something :P. I can see why that would come off as annoying though. Also, just to clear this up, when I said you deleted my post out of embarrassment, I didn't actually think you were embarrassed. It was just me being silly. When you deleted my post, I thought you were just trolling me back, and I didn't realize that you did so to avoid having the topic continue. Guess that's another example of me missing something through the internet. I apologize for that, too.

Also, I don't want this to keep getting derailed, but just to make clear up one more thing so we can completely wrap up this topic and move on, I just want to quickly sum up my opinions on the SA games. I think they are good but not great. I've played handfuls of all the post-Genesis Sonic games (mostly Sonic Heroes, Shadow the Hedgehog, Sonic 4, and Sonic Colors) but I'd say the Adventure games are the only ones I've played enough of to give a good opinion on. City Escape from SA2 in particular is a personal favorite of mine. I probably like SA2 a bit more between the two (though I did play them just on the GameCube as I didn't have a Dreamcast).

Now let's move on and get back to some game matchups.

Spark Of Spirit

Well, it's sort of irrelevant anyway, since his tastes have clearly changed from a few years ago.

My favorite anime at age 12 or so was DBZ, but it's not anymore.

Alright, sorry for not posting up the next match earlier today, but a few things went wrong. Namely, my piece of shit laptop has been giving me a ton of problems lately, with the latest one apparently being that my wireless card is giving me a lot of trouble connecting to the Internet (my Internet connection itself isn't bad, so it's definitely just my computer). And then it turns out that my file with all of the tournament matches was damaged in some way, and now won't open for me, so I have to re-generate the tournament brackets before I can post up the next match. Anyways, that's just my explanation of why the next match was delayed, today. Give me a little while and I'll have it up soon.

gunswordfist

Uh, having a shitty laptop is the worst. Good luck with that.

And DBZ was my favorite show 12 or so years ago too. But weren't you like 20 years old then, Spark? :whuh: That makes it kind of disturbing....
