My Picks:

Match 25:
Snow White (Kind of archaic by today's standards, but still classic stuff)
Billy and Mandy (I haven't seen this special in ages, but I remember liking it well enough)
DBZ (Admittedly I have the TFS abridged version stuck in my head, which is the only reason it's not last in this round)
Howl (Fun Fact: This was the first every Miyazaki movie that I saw....yeah, I didn't get what all of the hype was about)

Match 26:

Turtles Forever (Personally, I like it much better than the 2007 CG movie)
Up (I tend to think Pixar is a tad overrated, but this is my favorite film that they made, so they've done good, here)
Digimon Adventure: Our War Game (While not on par with Hosoda's feature-length films, it was still great stuff for a fan)
Shrek (I like it, but it was the least memorable film for me in this match)

LumRanmaYasha

It took 4 months, but we're finally at the half-way point for the first round! Yay!  :)

Match 25

Billy and Mandy's Big Boogie Adventure - I love this movie so, so much. It's easily my favorite thing to come out of B&M, and I never tire of watching it. It's so dang funny to me. It's not a better film than Snow White, I suppose, but I always enjoy watching this and regularly have ever since I first saw it way back when.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarves - I just rewatched this on Thursday, actually, and it's pretty damn underrated. Some of the animation is dated, but mostly it's brilliantly executed with many strong scenes that make modern productions blush with how effective they are and is just greatly entertaining as a whole.

Howl's Moving Castle - This...is honestly my least favorite Miyazaki/Ghibli movie that I've seen, though I haven't watched it in a long time so I dunno how if I'd feel any different if I saw it again. I don't think it's a bad movie, by any means, though, just not as good as many others Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli have done.

Dragon Ball Z: Cooler's Revenge - Ugh. Like, even as a kid, most DBZ movies did little for me and Cooler's Revenge is no exception. It's a neat idea to have the brother of Freeza come and get revenge for his death, and all, but it's basically a 50 minute excuse for fight scenes, and that is just not interesting or entertaining to me. It's better than it's sequel, though. That one makes my head hurt, especially the original english dub with that god awful rock music score that would just never, ever, stop (shudders).

Match 26

Up - I think this is Pixar's best film to date. A well written, interesting protagonist and likable sidekicks, with strong emotional bits and riotous humor. And of course, those first ten minutes are sheer perfection.

Shrek - I by far prefer Shrek 2, but the original is pretty fun and clever, though it does feel somewhat dated now.

Turtles Forever - I've never been much of a Turtles fan (just never got around to watching enough of 2K3, I'm afraid), but I quite liked this film.

Digimon: Our War Game - I really like this film too, though more for the effort of what it tried to do than as a story overall. I think it's most interesting to me in seeing the way Hosada was able to expand on concepts and ideas he used in this film and refine them with a stronger story in Summer Wars.

vs.

The Black Cauldron

vs.

The Three Caballeros

Match 28:

Beauty and the Beast

vs.

Coraline

vs.

Mulan

vs.

The Spongebob Squarepants Movie

My Picks:

Match 27:
Pass

Match 28:
Coraline (Effectively nightmare-inducing for children...and myself)
Mulan (Because "BE A MAN!" is catchy as fuck)
Beauty and the Beast (Disney promotes bestiality....but other than that it's a pretty good film)
The Spongebob Squarepants Movie (Could've done without the David Hasselhoff cameo)

Avaitor

Same as EK for the second match, but as for the first

The Three Caballeros (inconsistent and widely imperfect, but damn if I don't find it fun to watch, even the weaker aspects)
The Black Cauldron (more or less the same as Caballeros, but the more I read up on the book series it's inspired by, this does seem like an inferior adaptation. I still like the movie, though)
Rugrats in Paris (like most of the later episodes, there are some really stupid, gawdy parts all around, but unlike said episodes, I do think that the emotional core of the film holds up, and I still laugh here and there)
Jimmy Neutron (I haven't seen this in years, but I do remember liking it, although it took no time for me to prefer the show. Maybe I'd like it better now, maybe not, but last place seems like a good choice for the time being)
Life is not about the second chances. It's about a little mouse and his voyage to an exciting new land. That, my friend, is what life is.
