Now that these matches are getting so much tougher, I'm going to give reasons for my choices:

Ochiai- By far the most compelling characterin 20th Century Boys. His journey from being a man obsessed with his work to the post of neglecting his own son until he was tragically killed in an accident, to becoming a bad-ass martial artist who played a key role in saving the world from Friend's reign is one of the best character arcs that I have ever seen.

Genkai- Easily one of the best "mentor" figures in any shonen manga or anime. Whereas the archetype of older manga would be some old wise master, or in modern manga where they make it way too hard to take any female teachers seriously by over-sexualizing then, Togashi just went straight against the norm and created a much grumpier version of the protagonist in the form of a stunted old hag. What's best is that she just has so much personality to her that she almost puts Yusuke to shame, which is saying a lot.

Rock- My favorite Black Lagoon character, and the guy who serves as the person that readers/viewers can really relate to.
