Life is not about the second chances. It's about a little mouse and his voyage to an exciting new land. That, my friend, is what life is.

Sir, do you have any Warrants?
I got their first CD, but you can't have it, motherfucker!

Well, it's all come down to this, folks. After nearly 4 months, we've finally arrived at the ultimate, the definitive, the conclusive match of this competition. Nearly 300 characters from over 100 different anime/manga series were nominated for this competition, and in the end, only four remain standing. These four are truly great characters and well-known to be favorites among many members of this board and participants of this competition. That said, when it comes to the title of "The Greatest," there may only be one. So, friends, now is the time to choose! To choose the hero that we may not need but deserves to win this competition. To choose the protagonist from anime/manga that stands above all others in the subgenre. Yes, it is now time for...

THE FINAL ROUND!
ASSEMBLE, ULTIMATE ANIME ALL-STARS!
WHO IS THE GREATEST...?

Yusuke Urameshi (Yu Yu Hakusho)

VS.

Kurama (Yu Yu Hakusho)

VS.

Kenshin Himura (Rurouni Kenshin)

VS.

Joe Yabuki (Ashita no Joe)

A worthy final round. All of these characters rank among my favorites. That said, for me, it is no choice at all to choose who I'd consider the most supreme. I've said much about these characters in the past at various points, so you'll have to forgive me for omitting explanations for the time being. I will try to add some in later if I can think of anything new to say, though:

Joe Yabuki
Yusuke Urameshi
Kurama
Kenshin Himura

Because this is the final round, I will leave the voting period up longer than usual. Everyone interested has until midnight Christmas Day to vote on this match, and the results will be posted within that hour. Now, I wonder, which of these characters will take the crown of the greatest anime/manga protagonist ever? Hmm....

Spark Of Spirit

Now that's a final round.

Kenshin Himura
Yusuke Urameshi
Joe Yabuki
Kurama

yusuke - i have been a fan of his for 13 years, which is almost most of my life. probably the most charismatic character i've ever seen in any form of fiction. i am glad my brother got me into this show.

kenshin - i lost cable for awhile back then and soon after, i saw rk come on. i have been picky about anime for a long time and was skeptical about getting into this one based off of the toonami intro promo. boy, what a waste of skepticism. the episode i watched was the final jinei (sp?) episode. it was the perfect series introduction episode since it covered a lot of basic elements that the series had. it remains my 2nd favorite episode. the 1st being my favorite rurouni kenshin anything. more than 10 years later, the manga would be the first (and still only) manga i have finished.

kurama - he showed that he was more main hero material than any other supporting character during chapter black.

Wow. I couldn't ask for a better final round. All of these are among my favorite anime and manga characters of all time, and no matter who wins, you can't possibly go wrong here.

Joe Yabuki- The Champion of the Slums
Kenshin Himura- The Legendary Wandering Samurai
Kurama- The Deadly Former Demon-Fox Bandit
Yusuke Urameshi- The Strongest Street Punk Turned Spirit Detective Of The Human Realm

I'll save my specific character comments for the actual final ranking.

GSF: You kind of seem to have forgotten to bother ranking the other 2 characters in this final round.

Merry Christmas to one and all,
My present to thee,
Results definitive and final,
To put under your tree.
We've met 288 Heroes, from various manga and anime,
But only one is the greatest, on this Christmas Day.
So sit by the fire, warm up yourselves,
And stop, for one second, watching tv specials with reindeers and elves.
Stay comfy in your seats, with computers on your lap,
And don't switch to some other tab to go off and fap.
Because here's what you've been waiting for, for four months or so,
It's the conclusion of this competition, so let's stop rhyming, here we go!

Well, that was a fun competition. There were quite a few heated rounds, too.

Thanks for running it, Cartoon X! *applause*
