I'll pass on the first for right now, since I actually picked up a copy of The Name of the Rose the other day, and want to read it first.

But I'll vote for The Count of Monte Cristo for the other.
Life is not about the second chances. It's about a little mouse and his voyage to an exciting new land. That, my friend, is what life is.

Sir, do you have any Warrants?
I got their first CD, but you can't have it, motherfucker!

Since its been over two weeks since the last post and no more votes seem to be coming in, I think its about time we wrapped these matches up. I'm going to leave them open for one more day (just in case), but that's it.
Also, I'll try not to keep the next ones running for quite this long.

I'll just leave my other match unvoted for. I don't want to cause a tie, and while I'm still not done with The Name of the Rose, I'm not against it winning at all.

Pass on the first.

I have such a deep nostalgic attachment to The Hobbit, and the kid in me wants to vote for it, but the adult part of me also adores A Storm of Swords as one of the best pieces of fantasy literature that I've ever read. For me it's truly a tough decision, but I have to go with A Storm of Swords on this one.

Speaking of The Hobbit, GRRM's Tales of Dunk and Egg really strikes me, tonally, as his spin on the more light-hearted adventure story that takes place many years before the much darker main story (much like The Hobbit compared to The Lord of the Rings).
