Not as much of a Justice for All fan?

As for Investigations 2, that's great to hear it's so good... or maybe just frustrating since we can't play it. I liked the first Investigations but I think it's the type of game that's more than the sum of its parts. None of the individual cases are nearly my favorite, but the whole package is very solid. I might put it above Apollo Justice.

Spark Of Spirit

JFA, I only really like half the game. Though to be fair, the half I like is great.

I guess I would loosely rank them this way:

Trials & Tribulations
Ace Attorney
Dual Destinies
Investigations
Justice For All
Apollo Justice

Though I don't hate any of them, I ranked them in how much total enjoyment I got from each game.

How are the WiiWare versions of the first three games?

talonmalon333

Yeah, Justice for All is really lopsided and is the weakest of the trilogy without a doubt. The first and third cases of the game are weak, but I really loved the second and fourth. The fourth case in particular is one of the series best. Overall, I think I'd rank the game higher than you did.

It also has one of the weaker soundtracks in the series. Music is a category that I think none of the sequels topped the original at. I feel like none of them were even at quite the same level, actually.

I've never played them, but from what I gather, the games do remain intact. Apparently, some of the motion controls are poorly implemented but aren't required and that buttons can just be used instead, similar to how calling "Objections" in the DS versions can be done either by pressing an icon or by saying "objection" into the system's mic. That being said, if you own a DS or 3DS, you can't go wrong at all with the handheld version. The touch controls work really well. Plus, if you own a 3DS, the trilogy was recently released together on 3DS eShop, and apparently it's a really good compilation.

Spark Of Spirit

I'm almost certain the trilogy (and eventually Apollo and Investigations) will be put on the VC eventually. I'd wait for those ones.

As for music: this is still the best track in the series. I still hear Phoenix and Edgeworth slamming desks back and forth whenever I listen to it. Intense.

Though the remix in Trials & Tribulations is pretty cool, too. The series has a lot of good music, but that's still my favorite track.

VC for what? It's already digitally available on the 3DS.

That's certainly the best track, particular the Trials and Tribulations version. Some of my favorite tracks other than it are...

... And many more.

The regular questioning theme in Trials and Tribulations manages to sound both small and completely gigantic. It's not as good as the questioning theme in the original but it works so well, particularly with the Dahlia cases.

Spark Of Spirit

I was talking about DS VC for the Wii U, since Foggle prefers to game on consoles.

Know what character I like, but couldn't fit on my list? Klavier Gavin. Every previous prosecutor, despite eventually warming up to Wright (especially Edgeworth), started off as really cold and vengeful toward him. Gavin, on the other hand, has a bit of an ego, but overall he's really friendly and welcoming to Justice and Trucy. He does pick on Justice a bit, but it never comes off as more harmful than a friend taking friendly jabs at a teammate. It's funny and ironic that the prosecutor who starts off with the smallest ego and the largest desire to merely do his job and seek the truth, is a big shot rockstar of all things.

Wait, that exists?

Spark Of Spirit

Yep, you can even have different options for using both screens. It's convoluted, but probably the best solution for anyone who wants to play DS games on a big screen.

Klavier's a strange bird. He shows up in DD as well, and he's also really helpful there, too. He's not a total wall of malice like the other prosecutor's are when you first meet him, but he's no slouch at his job either. All in all, I do hope we see more of him in future games.

Sounds like there is little hope for the overly gimmicky DS games, like the Zelda games. Those games basically require doing everything by literally touching the screen. You must be so sad. :P

What good DS games are currently available on it, or at least, will eventually be available?

I also feel bad when thinking about the stress he must go through. In one case he must go against his friend from the rock band, and in the final case, he goes up against his own brother. He does eventually turn against his brother and pretty much severs their connection, but before that, I remember the stress being too much for him that he actually threatened to leave the courtroom and ditch the case.

Spark Of Spirit

Right now stuff like YIDS is available for it. I haven't bought any DS games for VC. I prefer them on a portable. But games like AA would be very easy to transfer over.

I said "good games". :awesome:

(I actually have never played that game, but I know it's reputation around here.)

Anyway, Foggle, whether or not this series makes it to VC, you should definitely play it at least on the 3DS.

Spark Of Spirit

Of course he should. It's essential to anyone with a dual screen system. Just like 999 and Hotel Dusk are.

Like I said in my initial post of the thread, this is one of the only video game franchises where one of the main strengths is that I actually care about the cast enough to play through an entire series because I want to see what they do next and watch them grow. There are, of course, other franchises where I like some of the characters, such as Metal Gear. But I can't say for sure if I'd play those games for their characters if it wasn't for the gameplay being so fun. I mean I like Snake and Otacon and some others, but do I really care all that much about Raiden or Liquid?
