I finished Max Payne 2 earlier today. Part 3 is great, but that damn escort mission is so frustrating in spite of being hilarious. I think I still prefer MP 1 overall, since it's a lot more consistent than the sequel.
Vinnie Gognitti: Well, that was fun... in a fuckin' terrible, sick, not-at-all-fun kinda way.

My favorite Max Mayne charaPcter. :sly:

Yeah, Vinnie's the best. That quote is so spot on. I love the part with him and Vlad on TV in the last nightmare sequence. And also the scene in his apartment/house/whatever.

Dammit, I wish I remembered all of that.

I remember that I honestly couldn't even get past Asylum Aftermath when I tried to play Contracts. I had no idea how to sneak past any of the guards without getting spotted, and I discovered that even disguising myself among them didn't seem to work since they still spotted me right away. I don't mind a game being challenging, but it would have been nice if the game at least gave me as a beginner player some clues as to how the actual gameplay mechanics work. I don't even mind having to work the rest out for myself, but the game doesn't even bother to explain the basis of how stealth works in the game, and being that I'm not a fan of stealth to begin with, I didn't put too much effort into trying to figure it out.

I hate "Avoid detection  or Game Over" missions

1) Kill solitary SWAT guy with silenced pistol or fiber wire
2) Hide body, steal clothes
3) When near other SWATs, never look directly at them, stop moving, touch them, or run

That's how you do it without being detected. The thing that makes it "worst level ever" material is that you have to actually kill all the enemies outside the building before you can finish the mission. Seriously idiotic.

Blood Money explains the mechanics a lot better with its tutorial. That was the first Hitman I played, which made getting into the previous games much easier.

Hitman is never like that unless you're playing on the highest difficulty, and even then, you don't fail outright, you just get shot to death instantly. But avoiding detection entirely (or getting a headshot as soon as you're spotted) is the most fun way to play.

Been playing The Walking Dead game by TellTale Games. Got to say as someone that hasn't read a single Walking Dead comic or watch the show on AMC, I am loving this game and think it can stand on it's own. I really like the gameplay mechanic of having to make a choice in an instant, it's pretty nifty in a point-and-click. Almost like a QTE, but there's also some QTE as well that does require aiming with your view. Also really like the Xbox controls in this game, they feel natural.

Also, I feel sorry for poor little Clementine. This girl has gone through Hell and as Lee I am trying to make her life a little better.

I just remembered that my friend let me borrow his copy of Paper Mario and I still haven't touched that. Since I'm off for the summer now, I'm going to start it up again tonight.
Life is not about the second chances. It's about a little mouse and his voyage to an exciting new land. That, my friend, is what life is.

Sir, do you have any Warrants?
I got their first CD, but you can't have it, motherfucker!

Just discovered that God Hand is now available on PSN. Anyone who has a PS3 (and can't find a PS2 copy) should check it out. It's the greatest action game ever made!

Dr. Ensatsu-ken

Too bad its still staying a Sony exclusive. If it was ever released on XBLA I'd hit that shit up right away.

Paper Mario is still hella fun, especially when you know to to stragetize between your badges and sidekicks. I already got the first star last night.

One thing I do dislike about the game though- you can only level up your partners once you find a place to go to.

I also played Telltale's Walking Dead game, despite not reading the comics or watching the show (though I'm starting to do the latter), and I love it.

Yo, E-K, Spark, gimme' your Steam usernames. I got your gifts ready. ;D

Let me know when you want something from the VC. We should probably exchange Wii friend codes for that, though.
