Capcom also dropped the ball with Vergil in DMC3SE. His mode should've been more like Seperate Ways from RE4, granted, they'd probably have trouble explaining why Vergil fights any of the bosses besides Beowulf and Dante.

I would have also liked to play as Lady in a special mode, though that would have necessitated turning that segment of the game into a balls to the wall 3D shoot 'em up.

...There are no downsides to that.

Something, anything, Capcom! But not DmC! Please no! :'(

That would...actually be pretty interesting.

But, but...Underground.

I hope, if they ever make a real DMC 5, they go the RE 6 route with it. Different campaigns for Dante, Nero, and Lady, with Trish, Vergil, and maybe even Sparda as unlockables. That'd be bonertastic.

If it takes place after 2, then that could easily be accomplished with the story focusing on Nero and co. getting Dante out of Hell or whatever. You can even use that excuse to justify Vergil being a playable character when he's supposed to be dead.

Don't you mean after the 2nd game? Dante goes to hell at the end of DMC2, whereas DMC3 is a prequel and takes place before any of the other DMC games, so of course all of them take place after that.

BTW, Don't you just love how Japanese games love to ignore any sense of chronology with their "sequel" numbers? :sly:

I love this.

Definitely shot it the first time I played through the game.

I loathe Stone Cyclone Galaxy. Seriously.

I love those credits mini-games! They're pretty easy, but playing them is a lot better than watching text scroll on a black background.

I have no idea why Vergil (or Mundus) weren't in DMC4. DMC4's story amounted to showing off Nero. No I'm not saying story is the game's strongsuit but they could have at least thrown in those two. I'm getting sick of all these detours.

Not having Mundus makes sense, he's sealed off, so they're probably planning for Dante's decendant to finish him off. Vergil on the other hand, is another matter entirely. His sword was very relevant to the games plot, and there's a lot of things to suggest that Nero has some sort of connection to Vergil (particularly the Devil Bringer), yet the game never elaborates on any of it. The next game would have supposedly elaborated on Nero's backstory more, but we all know how that turned out.

After Nero basically got Vergil's Devil Trigger, I was like, "Yep, Vergil will be showing up any minute now." ... :unimpressed:

Mini-missions.** Kill 100 demons or protect Kyrie for 90 seconds to see the extended ending.

I had no clue. I thought DMC3 only had something like that.

I finished Max Payne 2 earlier today. Part 3 is great, but that damn escort mission is so frustrating in spite of being hilarious. I think I still prefer MP 1 overall, since it's a lot more consistent than the sequel.

I've started playing Hitman: Contracts again. It's far better than I remembered. Though it's unfortunate that the first two levels are the game's worst... I think that really throws people off (myself included). Asylum Aftermath is literally the least helpful tutorial mission I've ever seen and The Meat King's Party has extremely confusing level design. But things really get good after that. Silent Assassin and Blood Money are still better, but I'm starting to appreciate Contracts a lot more now. This might actually be my favorite stealth game series. Can't wait for Absolution.
