Apparently it is the thing. I've been looking around the internet to get an idea of where season five is going, and it looks like Archer's vision is basically going to play out over the season. Archer Vice is a reboot of the series, moving from the ISIS spy thing to drug trafficking down south while they try and get rid of the cocaine.

Well, can't wait to see how we get to each part than. This season's going to become even more awesome than all other season combined, and we know this to be a FACT!

Did anyone catch last night's episode?

I was on such a HIMYM high that Archer couldn't compete for me this time, but it wasn't bad. I like how we've been getting some of the show's more eclectic one-off characters back into the fold so far, although I wish they did more with the Yakuza. And honestly, even now, I can still take or leave Ron.

Wow, Pam is an awful human being though. When you make Archer look good, you know you must be shit.

I picked the show back up and watched through most of season 1. It's not the type of show that I would marathon through, but it is really entertaining to watch about an episode a night. The characters aren't necessarily likable, but a lot of the best humor comes from the show deliberately acknowledging that.

Yeah, that's the thing about the show. I wouldn't want to really befriend any of the characters, but that's part of the fun. This method is also effective when you consider that no one is truly worthless (although it took a while for Cheryl's merit to make it on screen)- the whole gang has their own little idiosyncrasies which both add and subtract to their methods. Even Archer, despite being a rabid drunk, is skilled on the field and is surprisingly articulate towards a lot of things.

I think my favorite character dynamic so far is between Archer and his mother. They are so spiteful of one another, but not to an extreme. It'sjust the right out of bad blood and bitterness to make their exchanges come off as humorous.

The new season has been pretty great IMO. I'm surprised there are people who hate it. Seriously, nothing but negativity over at imdb and some other places.

Although I don't think last night's episode was one of the best. Still good, though.

I don't get why people would hate this season. It's the same show as it ever was. The change from spies to drug dealers isn't really that big a deal since this has always been a show driven by character interactions and relationships more than what they do.

I think every episode this season has been good so far, myself. I've been particularly been enjoying this new Archer/Pam dynamic. These last two episodes have paired them working together, and I think they really play off each other well and make for a fun buddy duo. The show might have found some potential with that, and it will be interesting to see how they'll make use of it in future episodes.

Yeah, it's just as good as the previous seasons, to me. No real drop in quality to speak of.

The ratings have plummeted, though. I wouldn't be surprised if it gets cancelled or next season hastily brings back ISIS.
