Yeah, I'm having fun with the game as well.  I'm on the 6th world, and have nearly 50,000 coins.  But still, the extra lives thing.  I feel they could've been a little less generous with the 1-ups, give them out every few hundred coins or so, because I've had more than a few levels where I got over 600 coins in it, and that means I just got six lives, not counting the green mushrooms I find or when I touch the top of the flagpole.  It makes the game easier than it has to be, throwing out that many 1-ups.

Other than that, I have no issues, and I'm having fun with it.  I agree, the Coin Rush part is a blast, and actually I've learned a few tips from it that I went back and used in the actual game.

Also, I don't have much of an opinion on NSMB, except maybe that it isn't very replayable.

Has anyone here ever played Super Princess Peach?

The one where her power is to make her cry?

No, but it seems like a unique experience, to say the least.
Life is not about the second chances. It's about a little mouse and his voyage to an exciting new land. That, my friend, is what life is.

Sir, do you have any Warrants?
I got their first CD, but you can't have it, motherfucker!

I have Super Princess Peach, though I haven't played much of it.

It's a pretty interesting game, that's for sure.

Spark Of Spirit

That game is impossible to find here for some reason. And when you do it's never under $49 or something crazy.

I played a demo of it at GameStop years ago. From what I remember, her emotions are what serve as power-ups; sadness, anger, etc. etc.

It was unique, and I actually enjoyed what little of it I played, but I never did get around to buying it for whatever reason. That day in particular I went with Partners in Time instead, since I could only buy one.

I have it, and still haven't 100% it but its on my list of things to do. It's pretty fun, although it doesn't require as much skill as your typical 2D Mario. There's a lot more puzzles in the levels than there are platforms, and there's plenty of collectibles to promote replayability. It's also very nice looking for a sprite based game.

Music is pretty catchy too. I still hope it gets revisited with a sequel one day.

Eddy

Yeah, it's become somewhat of a rare game. It's been out of print for some time now and the few copies out there that are left go for around $50.

The Mario Kart series is now 20 years old.

Double Dash is still the best.

B-but, the broken items system. :'(

Here's to 20 years of infuriating rubber-banding AI and broken controllers from every generation. And all the makeshift swears I invented.

That exists in every game.

At least this item system didn't fuck you over by giving you nothing but Green Shells and Bananas.

Damn straight.

Although I just learned of a great easter egg for 64. Leave the title screen on and let the music play for exactly 64 times, which would take about 50 minutes, and they'll switch the music to an alternate take of the victory theme.

If you're bored, check it out.
