I just find it amazing that none of the songs I ever had to listen to on the bus in High School are on your list DLA.

Which are?
Life is not about the second chances. It's about a little mouse and his voyage to an exciting new land. That, my friend, is what life is.

Sir, do you have any Warrants?
I got their first CD, but you can't have it, motherfucker!

The usual Linkin Park/P.O.D. shit and t.A.T.u.

Oh, I nearly forgot about one of my biggest guilty pleasures. :sly:

Also, have you noticed that practically every big rock act of the past half-decade+ have come from their label? And by "big rock act", I mean ones with huge hits and concert sales. A lot of the more popular acts tend to only have one or the other nowadays.

One more mention of the list for now. I'm done with my noir list on here, working on a new post on tz, and planning to do a brief update to my Nick list.

But this is my #1. It didn't go anywhere when I was making the list, but by the time I was posting it, the song was hitting the charts fairly high. Not too high though. If it made like the top 10, I'd find room for it. Otherwise, not yet.

Whaddya think?

Man, I remember when you couldn't escape PATD. I have to hand it to them for having a lot of ambition, but they were not good song writers at all.

Demi is a tolerable pop act, I've said it before. It also helps that I don't have to here about "escapades" from her all the time on the news.

You can say that about all of the FBR acts, really. I get the rest of PATD's stuff confused with FOB all the time, for one. And I used to check .fun out occasionally before their big breakthrough and thought that they would've been a lot more tolerable if they knew what the hell they were doing. They still don't seem to know.

Oh, and I mentioned this before, but if I went with earlier timeframes, "Smooth" or "Bittersweet Symphony" could've been #1, and "Scar Tissue" would've been my RHCP song of choice. Thoughts on those?

Those are all good choices. It was weird how inescapable those songs are, but I never seemed to really hate any of them.  I guess that must prove they're good pop songs.

But I also have a soft spot for a lot of Matchbox 20's stuff, especially the early stuff.

I have a bit more of an appreciation for M20 than I used to. The older stuff is solid modern day AOR. But yeah, they really went to crap after their hiatus from Rob's solo act.

Their first two albums are solid. The first has a bit of a southern bent to it and the second is a bit more straightforward, but they sort of lost it after that.

I always liked their song "Bent". Especially that beginning guitar part.

How ambitious would this project sound:

Top 40 #1's on the Billboard Pop Songs/Hot 100 chart?

I'd just say any song that was a hit on the charts, but I think sticking to only #1's will give me more of a challenge. Although of all the songs I could rank in, the ones I'll miss a chance to do so for the most are "What's Going On" and "Epic".

Holy fuck this is hard. I'm still on the 8o's and I already have at least 44 songs I wanna use, and a couple of them are doubled up.

I'll have to spruce this up.
