This show needs it's own thread, badly.

Al Bundy is the god of insult. Forever and always.
Life is not about the second chances. It's about a little mouse and his voyage to an exciting new land. That, my friend, is what life is.

I got their first CD, but you can't have it, motherfucker!

For a show that essentially made Fox (with the Simpsons), they sure treated it like crap. Such a shame, because there are few shows that do low brow as ingeniously as MWC does. Nothing but good writing, great timing, and fantastic comedic actors here.

No frills, no gimmick, just funny.

A whole bunch of it(maybe all of it, I'm not sure) is available for Instant Streaming on Netflix, which is cool.

I got an issue of Entertainment a month or two ago that reunited the Bundys for an interview. In it, Ed O'Neill was talking about how Al really cared for his family and that there's plenty of heart in the show, but he's just disappointed in himself for losing his chances at success so early. When you watch the show again, you can see what he's talking about. Al does care for his kids and tries to help them out, and never really took one of the many chances he had to cheat on Peggy.

I don't think we can see a show as well-pulled off like this again. It's great on so many different levels.

Yeah, he clearly has no issues with his family at all in reality and cares for them deeply. It's just his way of expressing himself. He is bitter at himself, sure, but he's not really a hateful individual, he just seems that way to the average person.

I do wish the show would be aired more often, though. And, IMO, Ted McGuinley is actually just as funny as Marcy's husband. He's just a different kind of funny.

I think I prefer Jefferson to Steve myself. I like how Jefferson was more of a friend to Al as opposed to Steve always being a step ahead of him. Everyone else takes a jab or two at Al, but Jefferson was closer to him than most.

He corrupted the both of them in hilarious ways though, and Steve arguably had a better planned degression, but I don't think Ted McGinley was to blame for the show's downfall at all.

I don't think a lot of the best bits in the show would have worked with Steve instead of Jefferson.

I mean, the iconic roof bit. Come on. That only works when you have Al and Jefferson working as a team.  :D

I love the fake bodies they used on the show. They're so charming, even when you can't see them that far.

I think the part of the reunion special where they talked about them was my favorite part of it.

Oh yeah, I mean the whole show just has it's own charm to it that always sucks me in. I mean, that part where the giant bird lifts Bob up and officer Dan shoots the bird so Bob hits the ground? Where else would something like that work? It's like the Simpsons "rubber band reality" only in live action.

I need to finish getting this show on DVD.

I'm only missing the last season.

I need to fix that.

Those roofs are dangerous! :shakeshakeshake:

It's one of those shows where, as with pro wrestling, it would have been awesome to be in the studio audience.

Sharp parody of MWC. I miss when they were that good at them.

Although, I'm not sure what you'd think of the gag if you never saw the show before.

#13
Classic.

Oh, this reminds me, one person is about to check out MWC, and is using the Futurama episode as reason to. He isn't big on sitcoms with laugh tracks, but this will be the first time he's intentionally tried one out. Hope he enjoys it!

On top of that, Katy Sagal won a Golden Globe for her character on Sons of Anarchy. I haven't seen that show yet, but I'm happy that both she and Ed O'Neill are on well-appreciated shows like they are, but MWC hasn't been forgotten and won't be anytime soon.

Katey Sagal deserved that award many times, I'm glad she was finally able to get it.

MWC really should be on reruns more. It's really a crime that it isn't, I'm sure it would be even more popular if people could just see it.
