The thing I find even weirder is how it's kind of given the shaft in comparison to a lot of other shows for the anniversary. I've only seen tomorrow and this upcoming Saturday's schedules, and it's not on either of them. Even Chowder and Flapjack, which were considerably less popular, are given more love so far.
Life is not about the second chances. It's about a little mouse and his voyage to an exciting new land. That, my friend, is what life is.

Sir, do you have any Warrants?
I got their first CD, but you can't have it, motherfucker!

So while I wait for more votes, why don't you guys share some memories about the network on here?

I remember when my household first got Cartoon Network back in 1995. We had Comcast cable at the time and CN was just added to our basic package. Friday nights were cool because CN would air Space Ghost: Coast to Coast at 11PM, followed by Cartoon Planet at 11:15PM, and that would be followed by Toon-A-Palooza at midnight.   The non-stop reruns got repetitive after a while, but when I 1st got the channel, seeing those shows again for the first time in years (or in the case of some shows, decades) was sweet.

I didn't really start getting into Cartoon Network until the World Premiere Toons (which of course gave birth to the Cartoon-Cartoons), Space Ghost: Coast to Coast and Toonami began, and I didn't start really watching Toonami until they began airing shows like Dragon Ball/Z, ReBoot, Sailor Moon, Tenchi Muyo! and Outlaw Star. I wasn't all that into CN back when they were basically just the Hanna-Barbera Reruns Channel lightly sprinkled with some Warner Bros. and MGM shorts. Don't get me wrong, I love Looney Tunes and MGM cartoons (not the biggest HB fan there is, but their stuff is OK in small doses, if a tad repetitive and interchangeable), but back then when that was all the network carried, it got stale very quickly.

The current CN is OK, though I miss having 2 to 4 hours of premiere block goodness to watch on Friday and Saturday nights.

Check this out.

A set of tarot cards made with CN characters, probably around 2004. They even have some [as] stuff in here!

I don't know if anyone cares, but they seem to be bringing Cartoon Planet back, at least for October.

Here were tonight's episodes

Courage the Cowardly Dog: the Were-Mole episode

Kids Next Door: Operation: T.R.I.C.K

I Am Weasel: I Am Vampire

Dexter's Laboratory: Jurassic Pooch

Cow & Chicken: Happy Meat

They seemed to go for a Halloween theme for the first half.  And I believe there were like...one or two new Brak and Zorak skits.

Avaitor

Yeah, I caught it. My rankings:

Courage
Dexter's Lab
Cow & Chicken
I Am Weasel
KND

The Courage is a classic, while the Dexter and Cow & Chicken episodes lose points for not having anything to do with Halloween, but they're good too. Meanwhile, the Weasel short was weird, and KND was... well, KND. I do give it credit for having Numbah One dress up as a Borg, though.

Commode

Courage is on the TV, with the checkerboard logo at the bottom of the screen.  I had to check my calendar and make sure this wasn't 1999.

Yeah and, this is the first time this week I've watched the channel, so I've missed all the anniversary hubbub.
It doesn't matter what you say, soon you'll be dead anyway.

Avaitor

Well they're airing stuff like what they did on Monday on the weekends too, so you didn't miss too much.

Chowder's on now BTW.

Dr. Insomniac

And it's a good episode of Chowder to boot.

Ah, I caught a few seconds of that one time (I no longer have the channel) I just stood there, not believing my eyes. So beautiful. ...and why the hell was Johnny Bravo hitting on an Imaginary Friend? Just...creepy...

Avaitor was talking about sharing old memories a few posts back. I've been thinking about one. One of my favorite cartoon related ones. When my brother and me loved with our Grandma she used to let us watch TV all night long (AKA cartoons all night long), even on school nights). We just laid down on a blanket in front of the TV. I believe that was around the Premiere/Cartoon Cartoons times. Those were the much better days.

Did you watch the World Premiere Cartoon marathon when they did that, the one where in the span of 48 hours, they showed one WAC short at each hour alongside the regular classics?

I...do not know. As far as scheduling goes, it's all a blur to me, including marathons. I just devoured 'toon watching back then.
