All I'm saying is that it still shows the double-standards that most reviewers and gamers in general have these days. If Resident Evil 6 is a bad game, then so are almost every other TPS action game that it has heavily tried to copy that end up doing the same shit, but people gush over all of those games.
Yes, I absolutely agree with you. RE6 is certainly no worse than the majority of TPS games from this gen (which are, by and large, trash), and a couple of Leon's and Ada's levels really do show promise. But RE4 is still one of the absolute best third-person shooters ever made, while RE6 lies far below this gen's greats like Vanquish, Alan Wake, Mass Effect 2, and Spec Ops.

QuoteAlso, for what its worth, I'd probably still like this game better than the Batman Arkham games....since I'd rather play a typical TPS game from this gen than those games....
I love Arkham Asylum, but there's just something about Arkham City that makes me not care for it at all. I'd probably rather play (the majority of) Leon's and Ada's RE6 campaigns again than AC.

What's funny, Foggle, is that the transformation of your opinion on RE6 is somewhat similar to mine with RE5, back when that game was new. I hyped it so much, and when it was new, I kinda led myself to think it was awesome despite the fact that, even when I first played it, I found parts of it to be annoying. Once that excitement wore out, I came to see the game for what it is. It's good. It's just not great.
I honestly think that RE5 is a much better game than 6. The level design is a lot more open and creative, while the mechanics feel far more satisfying. RE6 just feels like a more linear Uncharted on a budget to me.

Eddy

I still haven't finished RE6 and don't feel as motivated to finish it as I feel I should be. Siiiiigh.

Am I to understand that Revelations is a far more satisfying modern Resident Evil game? I still need me a 3DS.

That's because the levels are all way too long and just drag on forever. Especially Leon's and Chris'.

Absolutely. Only elements that are worse are the graphics and writing. Everything else is leagues better (pun intended).

So RE6 is coming to the PC on March 22, 2013.

I supposed I will look into the game once that time comes and finally be able to form my own opinion on it.

Foggle

I'll probably buy it again once it's $10 or so. Maybe form a definitive opinion using the definitive version. Or maybe not.

Eddy

So I got a 3DS for Christmas and played the demo for Revelations and HOLY CRAP. THIS is the kind of game RE6 should have been.

Spark Of Spirit

That demo is awesome.

Do you have a friend code to share with the class? (And anyone else with a new 3DS?)

Not sure if you guys know, but it was recently announced that Revelaitons is being ported in HD to the PS3 and 360. And it looks like a Wii U port has been confirmed too. I already have the 3DS game collecting dust. But if I ever decide to play it, I honestly might trade in that version and play it on a console instead.

Dr. Ensatsu-ken

This is definitely something I'd be interested in. Revelations seems to be the closest in line with Resident Evil 4's style of gameplay out of all of the RE games that came out last year, and I loved that game, so hopefully this will be more in line with that style of gameplay than the direct sequels were.

Spark Of Spirit

The demo was definitely better than the RE5 demo.

Revelations is the only RE since 4 that I'd willingly play again. Aside from some stupid moments, it's a pretty good game.

This was posted by GameKyo as a rumor for tomorrow's Nintendo Direct for the Wii U:

QuoteNintendo just announced a Nintendo Direct dedicated to Wii U that will be streamed tomorrow at 3PM PM.
The company of the mustache plumber should announce new games.
For its part, Capcom just announced that Resident Evil Revelation is comming to PS3/360/PC and Wii U and released a little teaser by announcing that this won't be the only title coming for Wii U.
This events have created hype over a rumor that is expanding around forums: Nintendo and Capcom would announce a remake of Resident Evil 2 exclusively for Wii U!
It's most likely bunk, but I figured I'd post it anyway.

If a RE2 remake does come out, it probably won't be exclusive for the Wii-U. At least, not forever.

They're probably talking about either 5 or 6, sadly enough.

Spark Of Spirit

Unless it's whatever deal they got with REmake, but I wouldn't be surprised if it got ported eventually.

It's Capcom.

That was all Mikami's doing, from what I've heard. He actually didn't like the framework of the PS2 and Xbox and wanted to develop exclusively for the GameCube at the time; thus his controversial statement about Resident Evil 4's porting.
