Commode

More than two consoles considering all the offerings on the VC.  Although those may slowly start to disappear, like the DKC games.
It doesn't matter what you say, soon you'll be dead anyway.

From what I hear though, Code Veronica is really expensive on the GameCube. Then again, it's better to get that game in its HD format, which I imagine is much cheaper anyway.

My order from best to worst, using only the ones I played.

It's a bad game, but it has a few really good levels. I picked up the Steam version for $10 (thank you Green Man) and I'd say it's worth about that for the fun chapters, but no more. The PC port blows the console versions out of the water, btw. 60 FPS makes a big difference in RE6.

This is a fact. Deal with it. :happytime:

Naw, but really, Code Veronica is objectively better than 6, but I find them to be about as fun as each other.

Admittedly though, I don't think Code Veronica is that good a game. Some of the gameplay elements were just broken, and the story was simply ridiculous.

Foggle, didn't Capcom state they tried to make RE6 in as little time and using as little money as possible?

I'd say that explains why the graphics are a step below RE5's. I hear the cutscenes are also pre-rendered.

Foggle

It had the same development time and budget as RE5, even though the game is roughly 2.5 times larger.

Only a couple of the cutscenes are pre-rendered. You can tell which ones are pretty easily, because they look much better than the actual in-engine graphics.

I'll say this much: Even though the graphics in RE6 are a step down, I do like its overall art design much better than that of RE5, mainly because RE5 to me just looked really barren. By that, I don't really mean so much that I minded that it was set in Africa, but the actual levels just felt boring to look at, no matter how good the graphics looked. The sense of atmosphere wasn't really much better in RE6, but what I really do like about that game is all the varied locations and how there seems to be actual thought into making the levels and environments look interesting. And as you all know, I care about art design far more than raw graphical power.

Agreed.

But they run on the same engine, so there's really no excuse for the graphics not to be at least on par with 5's other than laziness.

I actually kind of think the art direction they used in RE5 could've been cool. Like I mentioned in an earlier post, the bright desert look just make things look really desolate and bleak. That's the best way I can think to describe it at the moment.

Still, that's referring entirely to the trailer. The actual game's atmosphere just felt incredibly bland, especially in the second half when the gameplay itself went from being a watered down RE4 clone, to a mediocre action movie.

Thought I remember them saying they tried to work on a budget... If you're right, though, then they've got no excuse. :P

Foggle

For a game as humongous as RE6, the budget of RE5 is pretty low.

You're right. I didn't take that fact into account. Heck, even RE4 was way bigger than 5, right?
