I still say that Crichton>Spielberg. If you haven't had a chance to read the original novel, change that ASAP.

But Islands of Adventures does make up for the movie's weaknesses.
Life is not about the second chances. It's about a little mouse and his voyage to an exciting new land. That, my friend, is what life is.

Spark Of Spirit

This film was huge. Seeing it as a kid in the theater was pretty intense at the time, and I still remember most of the beats to this day.

Too bad about the sequels.

Commode

I always thought this film/franchise was stupid.  Yeah, I guess seeing dinosaurs come to life on the big screen is supposed to be cool as shit when you're a kid, but I was never impressed, I just thought it was as dumb as other blockbusters of the 90s like Independance Day and Titanic.

/hater.
It doesn't matter what you say, soon you'll be dead anyway.

Dr. Ensatsu-ken

I liked the movie for what it was. The book was entertaining and had a bit more flare to it, and the movie was one of the better summer blockbusters that I've seen. As for The Lost World, I've never read the novel for that so I can't comment on it, but the movie was more along the lines of the stupid summer blockbuster that one would expect for a movie about dinosaurs.

Foggle

Pretty fun movie. Never liked the sequels much, but the original was one of my favorites as a youngster.

Yeah. I've only seen 3 and not Lost World but come on, people only get eaten by dinosaurs at the beginning of the movie. So damn stupid.

Kiddington

The sequels were awful, but the original still holds a special place for me.

Honestly haven't seen it in ages, though. I'm surprised it doesn't show up more often on cable, really. I mean, I see 2 and 3 being used as midday filler pretty often, but I can't remember the last time I caught the original over the air. Seems strange.

Angus

The sequel was rather bleh, but it inspired later shows like Walking with Dinosaurs and Primeval.

The Shadow Gentleman

I honestly don't want to think about it. I can't really imagine what it will be like. Might just be "meh" for all we know.

p.s. The first movie was fun but the book was better.

Angus

Yeah, weren't they playing them in the theater this past spring/summer?
