Apparently there's a rumor that the director behind Final Fantasy IX is in charge of Final Fantasy XV?

If that's true, I will finally play another Final Fantasy game. I've been waiting for him to make a game since IX (and he co-directed VI), and the series really needs a roots revival. Here's hoping this is true.

I've never been a Final Fantasy fan, but IX is the one that I played the most and actually enjoyed for a while. At the time a lot of gamers kind of turned on it since it wasn't going in the "realistic" character design direction that VII and VIII went for (even though both of those games look like shit by today's standards). I believe the older members of the development team who had been working of FF games since the classics considered it a personal favorite among the 3D games, however.

Either way, I did like that art style and thought that the character designs looked pretty fresh and unique. Either way, it was still as heavy on story and characters as any other Final Fantasy game, and its the only one I can remember that I was actually "kind of" getting into. I stopped playing the game around disc 3 because I had to return it and the PS1 I was borrowing to my friend who wanted it for when he was going somewhere on vacation. He would've gladly let me borrow the system when he returned, but by that point I never bothered to ask for it since my interest in the game had faded after just a couple of weeks. Still, I did have some genuine fun with that game, so maybe if FF XV is more along those lines, I'll have some incentive to try a JRPG again. Maybe....

Just give me a playable, traversable world map, decent characters, a good, non-gimmicky characters, worthwhile secret quests and a world map and I'll be sold. ;D

Final Fantasy IX was definitely something special, and I think it's the last great game in the series before it began to go downhill.

Normally I'd put this in the other "Things that bother you" thread, however:

QuoteWhile Vigil Games as it existed will almost surely be no more, there?s still potential for more ?Darksiders,? and some of the designers who worked on it. Atsushi Inaba, executive producer and head of ?Bayonetta? developer Platinum Games, expressed interest in buying the property, and Platinum?s writer and talent scout JP Kellams invited Dalton and Cureton to send in resumes.

My pre-order of BioShock Infinite has also netted me free copies of XCOM: Enemy Unknown, Civilization 5, and the original BioShock... PLUS $14 cash back. So that's four awesome games, two of which still sell for full price, for $46.

Thus reinforcing why PC gaming is best gaming. :happytime:

So, Foggle, being that you are more in the know about what makes a good gaming rig than just about anyone else here, what would you say would be the best kind of PC for me to get that can play modern games and costs no more than $1,000?

Not that I'd be able to get it anytime soon, but after I'm done with classes this semester, literally all I'll be doing for the next entire year are my rotations, and I'll actually finally have time to get a job and earn and save up money.

Foggle

Well, if you don't want to deal with the hassle of putting one together yourself (and you probably don't), I'd recommend checking out one of the specialized pre-built gaming PC sites during holiday sales and whatnot. My friend got an excellent rig from one of them last Christmas, and because they were having a deal, he barely paid any more for it than if he had just bought the parts separately.

Alternatively, you can just wait and see what the Steam Boxes are like. Should be out sometime this year.

I can help you find the best value for money deal via PM when the time is right. ;)

Dr. Ensatsu-ken

Alright, thanks. You're input is appreciated. I probably won't have enough money saved up to buy a good PC until around the holidays, anyways, so it should work out perfectly if I can look for one at that time. ;)

That looks like a shot from a Paper Mario game.

That's a good thing.

Sir, do you have any Warrants?
I got their first CD, but you can't have it, motherfucker!
