What are you guy's top 5 favorite shows in each form of animation? Basically, see if you can make a top 5 for American animation and anime. And if you want, you can also do lists for animated shows from other locations. You can also do top 10 lists, if you want and are able to. I figured that it might make sense to create threads like this for both the general animation, and anime boards. But I thought it might just be better to have this one for both.

I'll try to do lists for them eventually, when I decide on them.

For a change of pace, I will answer in gif form.

Not very surprising, huh? Well, these are the ones I tend to go back to the most, so yeah.
Life is not about the second chances. It's about a little mouse and his voyage to an exciting new land. That, my friend, is what life is.

Sir, do you have any Warrants?
I got their first CD, but you can't have it, motherfucker!

I would've expected to see Looney Tunes on your list.

The one with the ambiguously gay characters.

The one with the ambiguously straight characters.

The one with Lauren Tom in it.

The one whose main character had an "A" in their name.

The one where everyone was crazy.

I saw YYH at the bottom of your list and, without actually reading the numbers, assumed you were ordering them in reverse order like everyone else here. I was going to say "You finally gave good taste", but then saw it was #5 and realized that was too good to be true.

gunswordfist

Those are fake lists. The shows that didn't make it are simply ones that I need to catch up on/start.

1. Samurai Jack
2. Dexter's Laboratory
3. Ed, Edd, 'n Eddy
4. The Simpsons
5. Batman TAS

1. Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood
2. Fullmetal Alchemist

This is way too hard a question for me to answer. For now however, I'll go with these:

1. Gargoyles
2. Batman: TAS
3. The Venture Brothers
4. The Mysterious Cities of Gold (although being a collaboration between the French and the Japanese, perhaps it should recieve an honorable mention in the anime category as well?)
5. Spectacular Spider-Man

1. Legend of the Galactic Heroes
2. Monster
3. Cowboy Bebop
4. Ghost in the Shell: SAC/SAC: 2nd Gig
5. Twelve Kingdoms

Good lists!

I still need to get around to seeing your #1 pick on your anime list, myself, and I've heard good things about your #5 pick as well, so maybe I should get around to checking that out sometime in the future.

Pharass

Definitely give Twelve Kingdoms a try, since it features both one of the most original and living settings that I can think of in fantasy and a great cast of characters. Youkou in particular is fantastic, possibly my favorite female character in animation. It's not every day that an animated show gives us a main character who is incredibly easy to dislike while also being complex and believable. Her gradual growth throughout the series was great to watch.
