Man they've really overhauled it since Version 3.0. Its practically a different game.

Spark Of Spirit

Yeah, it was kind of a shock. Personally, I'm just glad they seem to have it all nailed down now. SoR3 system with a SoR1/2 soundtrack and atmosphere is the perfect beat em up combo.

Well there's always a certain classic action rpg series available for choice Yuzo.

Spark Of Spirit

Currently playing through the PSP version of it right now. I still kind of prefer the TG16 version, though. I'm not sure what it is, something seems missing.

But anyway, as for BEUs, SoRR seems to have some crazy branching paths. They really show you the amount of care went into this game. Though I'm not sure what to buy in the shop with my points, all the options look pretty good.

Spark Of Spirit

I heard about that. Sigh.

Worst part is I remember hearing that several years ago Yuzo Koshiro asked to make a SoR4 and Sega said no. Geez, if you aren't even going to use your properties, why the fuck do you care?

(PS: If anyone wants this FREEWARE game, PM me and I'll see what I can do. ;))

Like beat em ups? Get the FINAL version of the Streets Of Rage Remake that is out now. It is packed with content, insanely fun, and better than anything Sega has done with the series since SoR3.

Glorious soundtrack is amazing.

The only quibbles I find is the lack of 4 player (2 only, unfortunately) and online, but everything else is pretty much anything you could want out of a SoR game.
That looks great. I wonder if this is the same SoR Remake I saw a video o awhile ago. IDK.

Shit, I was just going to say that I'm sure some random guy on the internet would have it.

Super Double Dragon is surprisingly good despite being an unfinished game. Return Of (the Japanese version) is slightly better since it has a bit more finished, but either way it's a good beat em up. Double Dragon Advance is even better, though. It's easily the best combat system in a 2D beat em up. So many options, yet it still remains simple and fun.
I want to play Double Dragon games more than anything right now.

Oh and some random guy on the internet hooked me up with Streets Of Rage remake. I'll actually download it some other time.

Dalek, just want to say your list was hilarious. Good stuff. :happytime:
Life is not about the second chances. It's about a little mouse and his voyage to an exciting new land. That, my friend, is what life is.

Sir, do you have any Warrants?
I got their first CD, but you can't have it, motherfucker!

^Yeah if you're going to download MAME to just play one game... don't make it Brute Force. I swear to god its the most miserable broken thing I have ever experienced.

Dr. Ensatsu-ken

Yeah, that was a pretty good list, though to be honest I haven't even heard of half of those games to begin with. That Ninja Gaiden arcade game was seriously annoying with its enemies, though, since they could initiate a combo on you whenever they wanted (of course, it was easy as hell to be cheap in that game as well if you just spammed the throw move, but that was boring as hell). Of course, I've only ever played the emulated version of that game as an unlockable for beating Ninja Gaiden Black (on the XBOX) on hard mode, so I'm not sure if there is any differences in this port from the game on an original arcade machine that it would have run on. Still, its easily the worst "main" NG game out there (I don't count any of the Sega spin-off games as main games, though to be honest they weren't that bad at all, from what I remember of them).

Lord Dalek

Yeah naturally when discussing 80s arcade games there's gonna be a load of titles you've never heard of because they weren't widespread or didn't get console ports or something else. I have being a Mame user for almost 15 years to blame for my knowledge of a lot of this crud.
