Heads up: JO has a new review tonight.

The twist? It's an American cartoon. Which? Beats me.
Life is not about the second chances. It's about a little mouse and his voyage to an exciting new land. That, my friend, is what life is.

Sir, do you have any Warrants?
I got their first CD, but you can't have it, motherfucker!

The board died on me before I got to talk about it, but I liked the review and thought it was spot-on. Animated was a fine addition to the Transformers line, and jO's boyfriend was mostly right with it.

Oh, and this is taken from her FormSpring.

When I have time to watch 74 episodes of an anime, find decent copies of the footage from later in the show because it was never released on DVD, and then write a comprehensive review...so...A LONG TIME FROM NOW. XD

So yeah, no Monster anytime soon, then. Blame Viz.

Strange, for some reason I was under the impression that she had already seen Monster or at least a good amount of it since she had ranked Johan on her list. Well, maybe she already has seen it once but would want to watch through it again for a review, and can't do that for some reason.

Oh well, if she hasn't watched it that'd make more sense as to why it didn't make her top 25 list. I was sure it would be ranked somewhere on there, and I was kind of surprised to see that it didn't make it there (but, then again, there are those few people who just can't get into Monster because of its admittedly slow pacing; but I love it for its high level of character depth as its more about its characters than its actual plot, IMO).

Avaitor

I'm pretty sure she's seen a good portion of it, or at least has read all the manga. She was asked about it before on there as well, and mentioned that she preferred reading the manga to watching the anime.

Yeah, I can understand that, since I myself would probably pick the manga over the anime if I had a choice, if only because the anime is a carbon copy of the manga and in that case I'd just prefer to read the manga since I can go at my own pace rather than the pace that the show would force me to go at.

Oh, Monster parallels the manga? Cool. Maybe I can find that. Wonder if the training episode was a filler?

The anime for Monster has no filler. Its as direct of an adaptation as you can get. Basically, anything that you saw in the anime was already in the manga.

So, after finally finishing her Let's Play for YYH, JO has posted up a video of her top 10 favorite Cowboy Bebop episodes.

There are some good choices in here, and others that might not necessarily fit with my personal opinion, but with a show like Cowboy Bebop in which each individual episode can easily appeal to someone if not everyone, there isn't anyway that you could possibly go wrong with a list such as this.

Took her long enough, but a new review is up. And it looks meh-tastic!

That review was actually up days ago. I would have posted about it back when it was put up myself, but it was for such an uninteresting looking series that I didn't bother. Its always good to review a mixture of good, bad, and mediocre things, but is it just me or has a lot of JO's last few reviews been of mediocre stuff that most people wouldn't be interested in? She should really go ahead and review another really good series. Maybe she can finally get around to her YYH review, or hell, I'll even go for her review of FMA and her take on why its as great as people say and also her favorite anime over seeing her review another boring fan-service-centric show, any day.

Avaitor

Wow, this was a really interesting review. One of her best in a while.

Tezuka's stuff is highly recommendable, but I unfortunately have not read any of Phoenix yet. That said, as intriguing as it looks, I don't know if I'll watch the anime before reading the manga first.

New JO review!

It's a big 'un, too. Don't quite agree with her about the show, though.

Its good to see her finally put up a new review after quite a few months since the last one. As for the show, I've never been a fan of it but I don't really hate it either. Its just not my cup of tea, plain and simple, but I do agree that its at least not as pretentious as most of Gainax's other series that I've tried to watch but never could get into. Honestly, while I like Evangelion, I have to admit that I personally like it more for its monster-of-the-week scenarios than for analyzing it (though to be fair I do think its complex enough to be analyzed without coming off as being pretentious). As for Gainax's other shows, though, I totally agree with JO. They pretend to be way more clever than they really are, except somehow it fools a lot of people into thinking that they really are being clever and their shows get way more popular than they really should because of that (at least with American viewers, anyways).

I'm looking forward to her next review. While I'm no longer a fan of FMA, I'm interested to see her take on the first anime just so I can see why people praise that series so much. Don't get me wrong, I do think its a genuniely good series, but I've honestly never been able to see it as great. To be quite frank if anything can be accused of being at least a little bit pretentious, I'd say FMA would be one such sereis (though, to be fair its only a "little" pretentious, and its still a good series despite that as far as I'm concerned). Still, after having her review so many anime that I would either hate or honestly couldn't care less about, its at least nice to know that her next review will be of something that I actually like, even if I do find it to be a bit overrated.
