Oh, I do agree with you there. "In the Meantime" is such a classic.

Magrudergrind- "Bridge Burner"

Sir, do you have any Warrants?

The Donnas - "Take It Off"

Spacehog - Cruel To Be Kind

I found the album for $0.01 on Amazon and grabbed it. It's actually a bit hard to swallow that this came out in 1995 and was actually a hit album. Sure, In The Meantime is brilliant and one of the best singles of the decade, but the lyrics in general are just so much more positive and uplifting than any of the stuff coming out around that time. The rest of the album doesn't quite reach the brilliance of that song, but it's all really good stuff and was more than worth the price. I really dig the sound, like if Marc Bolan started an alt rock band in the early 90s.

Still there is a part of me that wishes the rest of the album was on par with that song, even if the rest of it is still great stuff.

Yeah, Spacehog is pretty cool. Had no idea you guys actually liked them; thought I was the only here that did.

If you get a chance, pick up their final two albums if you can (aka the ones that nobody payed any attention to). The Hogyssey in particular is pretty good, IMO. I don't know how these flew under the radar as much as they did (guess this isn't the style of music people wanted in the late 90's), but they're both worth a listen anyway.

John Fogerty- " Centerfield".

Getting me pumped up for summer!

Jeff Beck - "What Mama Said"

Damn.

Blue Cheer- "Peace of Mind"

This is what you call a classic.

Don Henley - "The Boys of Summer"

Call it "getting into the spirit of things", although with the weather we're having around here lately, you'd think we're closer to Christmas than we are to summer.

Spacehog - Starside

I really like the first half of the album better than the second It starts to drag by the halfway point for the most part. Though the lyrics to Space Is The Place are kind of... out of place with everything else on the album. Sort of like if the last Blink 182 album had a song on it like one of their joke songs mid-album. So jarring.

What song are you referring to, out of curiosity?

Like this

But there wasn't anything like that on blink's last two albums(remember they just released an album last September).  They really only do those types of songs live now, and only because of fan service.

That song is an atrocity by the way.  Most of their material from the Take off Your Pants and Jacket era is.  Easily the worst blink album.

I know it wasn't on an album, I said that a song like it would have been out of place on the last album since it's totally out of sync with everything on it. Same with that Spacehog song. The only difference is that Space Is The Place was not only on the album, but it was a single.

I'm not a big fan of their joke songs, never was. I was disappointed they didn't just rerecord old songs like Toast & Bananas and give them a better production instead. But then again, they were pretty disappointing at that time.

High on Fire- "Bloody Knuckles"

Two songs in, and I'm loving it. Matt Pike can do no wrong.
